1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteVerdict: Piktochart is worth considering if you regularly make infographics, reports, presentations or other data-led visuals. It is a more specialized information-design tool than an all-purpose graphics suite, so people who mainly need broad everyday design formats may prefer a general-purpose alternative. The most important buying issue is the export ceiling: the Free plan allows only two PNG downloads per account, while PDF and PowerPoint downloads begin on Business.
What is Piktochart?
Piktochart is a browser-based platform for creating infographics, presentations, reports, posters and social graphics. Its positioning favors turning data and structured information into visual content. Piktochart says that more than 14 million users worldwide create visual content with the service; that is a company-published claim rather than independently verified adoption data (Piktochart pricing page).
The assessment below combines Piktochart’s published plan information with an independent editorial review. No account was used and no exports were independently tested here, so capability descriptions from Piktochart should be read as vendor claims, while judgments about product focus are attributed to the independent reviewer.
Piktochart pricing and plan limits
Piktochart’s pricing page checked on September 30, 2026 lists the following. Paid prices are per account member; annual figures are billed annually, not month-to-month.
#1 Best Overall
| Plan | Price | Downloads and formats | Templates, storage and brand features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Two PNG downloads per account; the allowance does not refresh after both downloads are used | Free templates only, 60 AI credits, unlimited projects, 1 GB storage, up to four workspace members |
| Pro | $10 per member/month when billed annually ($120 per member/year), or $15 per member/month billed monthly | Unlimited PNG downloads; PNG is the format listed for Pro | Premium templates, 100 GB storage |
| Business | $17 per member/month when billed annually ($204 per member/year), or $20 per member/month billed monthly | Unlimited PNG, PDF and PowerPoint downloads | Expanded Brand Kit, 250 GB storage |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing | Not stated on the public comparison | Contact Piktochart for terms |
| Campus | Custom pricing | Not stated on the public comparison | Contact Piktochart for terms |
Education and Nonprofit offers are listed separately on the pricing page. Eligibility, current discounts and terms can change, so verify them directly before subscribing.
Is Piktochart really free?
Yes, there is a $0 Free account, but it is best treated as a limited way to try the editor rather than a dependable publishing plan. Piktochart Support lists unlimited visual projects, free templates, 60 AI credits, 1 GB of storage and up to four workspace members. The critical restriction is two PNG downloads per account, and those two download credits do not replenish once consumed (Piktochart Support: Free Account).
That limit matters if you need to deliver several finished graphics, iterate with clients or keep downloadable backups. You can build projects for free, but exporting repeatedly is not included.
Pro vs Business: which paid plan fits?
Choose Pro for PNG-first publishing
Pro removes the Free plan’s export bottleneck with unlimited PNG downloads and adds premium templates and 100 GB of storage. It is the logical paid tier when images are the final output and you do not need a PDF or editable PowerPoint file.
Recommended Free Tools
Choose Business for PDF, PowerPoint and brand governance
Business is the first listed tier with unlimited PDF and PowerPoint downloads, in addition to PNG. That threshold is decisive for print-oriented documents, formal reports and slide decks that must remain editable in PowerPoint.
Piktochart also describes Business as adding unlimited brand color schemes, custom fonts, logos and branded templates beyond Pro. Those controls are useful when several people must produce materials that follow the same visual identity; they are less compelling for a solo creator who only needs PNG files.
Rank #3
Check the seat calculation
Both paid prices are quoted per member. A team should multiply the displayed monthly rate by the number of account members and compare the annual commitment with the monthly option. The pricing page should be checked again at checkout because prices, taxes, eligibility and feature bundles can change.
What can Piktochart export?
- Free: PNG only, limited to two downloads per account with no automatic refresh.
- Pro: unlimited PNG downloads; the official comparison lists PNG as its format.
- Business: unlimited PNG, PDF and PowerPoint downloads.
If a requirement says “print-ready PDF” or “editable PowerPoint,” budget for Business rather than assuming Pro includes those formats. The independent review also identifies PDF and PowerPoint as Business-level exports.

How Piktochart compares with broader design tools
The independent review’s assessment is that Piktochart is more specialized in infographics and data-led content, whereas general-purpose tools such as Canva cover a wider range of everyday design jobs. That is an editorial evaluation, not a controlled benchmark, and this evidence set does not establish competitor prices or a universal winner.

Compare tools against the work you actually do:
| Question | Why it changes the decision |
|---|---|
| Are infographics and structured reports recurring deliverables? | A focused information-design workflow may be more valuable than a broad template catalog. |
| Do you need many unrelated formats? | A general-purpose suite may cover more use cases in one subscription. |
| Which export is mandatory? | PNG can fit Pro; PDF or PowerPoint requires Business on Piktochart’s published comparison. |
| How many people need access? | Paid pricing is per member, so seat count directly affects cost. |
| Do you need locked-down brand assets? | Business adds expanded brand controls for shared, consistent production. |
| Can you work within Free’s export allowance? | Two non-refreshing PNG downloads may be sufficient for experimentation but not ongoing delivery. |
Cancellation, refunds and time-sensitive terms
Piktochart’s pricing FAQ says subscriptions can be cancelled from account settings and generally describes payments as nonrefundable, with justified exceptions considered case by case. Read the live terms before paying, especially if you are relying on an exception or switching from monthly to annual billing.
Who should use Piktochart?
Good fit
- Communications, education or marketing teams that repeatedly turn data into infographics and reports.
- Creators who want browser-based templates for structured visual storytelling.
- Organizations that need Business-level PDF or PowerPoint exports and shared brand assets.
Look elsewhere or compare carefully
- People who need only occasional graphics and cannot use two Free exports as a one-time allowance.
- Designers whose work spans many unrelated formats and benefits from a broader general-purpose tool.
- Teams that require export formats or integrations not listed on Piktochart’s current plan comparison.
Bottom line
Piktochart is a sensible specialist choice for recurring infographic, report and data-visualization work. Start with Free only if you are testing the workflow and can live with two total PNG downloads. Select Pro for unlimited PNG publishing; select Business when PDF, PowerPoint or robust brand controls are requirements. Confirm live pricing, plan details, eligibility and refund terms before subscribing at Piktochart’s pricing page.
