Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The Pi Hub Development Kit is a documented custom board project for building IoT prototypes around a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B. It combines sensor connections, a breadboard and several interface sections, with project files for assembly and software setup. It is not established as a commercially available, complete kit: the project page describes a build and its resources, not a current retail package.
What the Pi Hub Development Kit is
In a project published on Hackster.io on February 13, 2025, the creator presents the Pi Hub as a way to make sensor connections and hardware experimentation more convenient for learners and early-career engineers. The page describes JST connectors, UART, ADC and I/O sections, an integrated breadboard, a modular sensor interface and Python-oriented use. These are design features documented by the creator, not independently tested performance claims or a guarantee of compatibility with every sensor. See the Hackster.io project documentation.
The project page describes “Over 20 pre-integrated sensors and modules.” Read that as the creator’s feature claim; it does not confirm that more than 20 modules are included in a retail box, or that a complete package is currently for sale.
What hardware the project documents
The parts list names a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B as the host, along with modules spanning sensing, motion, display and control. The range suggests the kinds of prototypes the design is intended to support, but a parts list is not evidence that every item ships with the board.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Category | Components named in the project |

The page also references power, connector and prototyping parts. The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B is explicitly listed as a host component; do not assume it is bundled with a Pi Hub board.
How the documented setup works
The project instructions call for separate supplies: a 12 V, 5 A DC supply for the hub board and a 5 V, 3 A adapter for the Raspberry Pi. They direct builders to switch power off before attaching sensors and to align the hub’s GPIO connector with the Pi. These are the author’s instructions; the project documentation does not establish independent electrical or safety testing.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Prepare the host and supplies. Use the listed Raspberry Pi 4 Model B and the two separate supplies specified in the project instructions.
- Make connections with power off. Turn off both devices before attaching sensors, then align the board’s GPIO connector with the Pi as directed by the project.
- Set up the software. The documented software path uses Raspberry Pi OS (also referred to as Raspbian), system package updates, the project source-code repository and Python 3 test scripts.
- Run an example. The project describes a soil-moisture example that displays output on an LCD.
Because the available documentation does not establish independent electrical testing, builders should follow the project’s wiring and component requirements rather than infer voltage tolerance or compatibility from the sensor list.
What files and learning resources are available
The project documentation references source code, schematics, Gerber files, a bill of materials, board layouts and CAD enclosure files. Those resources can help someone study or reproduce the build, subject to the files and parts actually available on the project page. The project also reports that its author obtained PCB fabrication through PCBWay; that sourcing detail does not mean a complete assembled board is sold by that provider.

Is it a kit you can buy?
The project page does not establish that the creator currently sells an assembled Pi Hub board or a complete kit, nor does it confirm what any purchasable package would contain. It reports a PCB fabrication quote of $111.23 and a total of $159.86 after shipping, but those are project-specific amounts reported by the author in 2025—not current prices, a retail price, or the cost of a complete kit.
If you want to reproduce the design, treat the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B as a separately listed host and verify the current parts list, availability and compatibility of each component before ordering. The project also gives purchase references for some parts, including a buzzer; those references do not demonstrate that any supplier offers a complete Pi Hub package.

Who the Pi Hub project may suit
The design is most relevant to readers who want to explore varied sensor-based Raspberry Pi prototypes and are comfortable working from a board project’s documentation. Its documented combination of interface sections, breadboard and sensor examples offers a starting point for experimentation, while actual suitability depends on the connections, power needs and included parts of the specific build.
