How a run works
Pets Survivors is a survival roguelike built around waves of enemies. Defeating enemies earns experience; each level-up offers a choice to improve a weapon, special ability, or pet. Coins collected during play can also be spent on permanent perks that carry progress into future attempts.
The game offers multiple difficulty options. If you are still learning how its choices and threats work, begin on a setting that feels manageable rather than treating difficulty as a test of skill.

For a first attempt, read the descriptions and choose options whose effects make sense to you. Pay attention to what each upgrade changes as the run unfolds. That gives you useful information for your next choice without relying on an unsupported “best build.”
Keep room to move
Nintendo’s official description advises players to “Take down waves of enemies while strategically keeping your distance from danger.” In practice, avoid drifting into a position where enemies close in around you. Move with a route open so you have room to respond as a wave approaches.

The official description does not prescribe a specific route or movement pattern, and a tactic that works in one situation may not suit every stage. Focus first on preserving space rather than chasing a fixed path.
Make level-up choices that support your run
Level-ups can improve weapons, special abilities, or pets. When choosing, ask whether an option strengthens a tool you already rely on or adds a capability you currently lack. This is a way to make choices coherent, not a tested formula for winning.

Notice which options help you manage danger and which effects you find difficult to use. That makes the next level-up decision—and your next run—easier to judge.
Turn each attempt into lasting progress
Coins collected in play can buy permanent perks, and the Steam listing describes permanent upgrades that make later attempts stronger. After a run, look at the persistent upgrades available and use what you learned about your pet, weapon, and the threats you encountered to guide your next attempt.

Steam lists a June 1, 2026 release; the US PlayStation listing gives August 12, 2026 for PS4 and PS5; and Nintendo UK lists December 8, 2026 for Switch, a date still in the future as of October 4, 2026.
