Pensacola International Airport announced on August 15, 2023, that work to replace its second escalator was expected to begin that week. The City described the project as part of ongoing airport modernization, but its announcement does not say that a grant funded the work.
What improvement did Pensacola International Airport announce?
The City of Pensacola said the airport would begin work during the week of August 15, 2023, to replace its second airport escalator. The announcement identified the project location as Pensacola International Airport in Pensacola, Florida, and described the aim as modernizing airport facilities and enhancing the travel experience for residents and visitors.
The City’s August 15, 2023 announcement is the source for those details. It contains no attributed quote from a named official.
Did a grant fund the escalator replacement?
The City announcement does not mention grant funding. It names no grantor, award, amount, or funding program, and does not connect a grant to the escalator project. The announcement therefore supports reporting the planned replacement, but not a claim that grant money paid for it.
