Pebblebee Halo is a rechargeable personal safety tracker that can sound a siren, flash a strobe, and share your location with people in a Safety Circle you configure. Pebblebee says pulling the device apart triggers those features; it does not describe Halo as a device that independently contacts emergency services. Location sharing depends on your phone’s settings and network connectivity.
What Pebblebee Halo does
Halo combines a personal alarm with item-finding support. According to Pebblebee’s product page, pulling the device apart activates an audible siren, flashing strobe lights, and live location sharing with your Safety Circle. The same page also describes a silent-alert option, but its precise activation sequence should be checked in Pebblebee’s current instructions rather than assumed.

Pebblebee’s April 2026 launch announcement rates the siren at 130 dB. That is a manufacturer-published rating, not an independent measurement in the sources available here. Pebblebee also says the strobe is very bright and warns users not to shine it directly into anyone’s eyes.
What happens in an emergency—and what does not
The intended alert path is from Halo to your configured Safety Circle. Pebblebee does not say that Halo itself dispatches police, medical responders, or other emergency services. Treat it as a way to attract attention and notify chosen contacts, not as a replacement for calling local emergency services when needed.

Location sharing is conditional, not guaranteed. Pebblebee’s product information says location services and Bluetooth must be enabled and that cell service or internet access is needed. The phone and network therefore affect whether a location update can be shared; Halo should not be treated as an independent satellite or cellular communicator.
Set up Halo before relying on its safety features
Pebblebee says to add Halo to its own app before connecting it to Apple Find My or Google Find Hub. The Pebblebee app manages the safety features and Safety Circle, and setup requires Bluetooth and an internet connection. Follow the current instructions for your phone and region.
- Install and open the Pebblebee app. Allow Bluetooth and internet access during setup.
- Add Halo in the Pebblebee app. Use the app’s add-device flow and follow its prompts; Pebblebee’s app-adding guide covers this stage.
- Configure the Safety Circle. Add the people you want Halo to notify and complete any app prompts needed for sharing.
- Check phone permissions and connectivity. Enable location services and Bluetooth, and understand that location sharing also requires a working cellular or internet connection.
- Only then connect to an item-finding network if desired. Pebblebee says to complete its app setup first, then add Halo to Apple Find My or Google Find Hub as applicable.
Do not pull Halo apart just to explore it: Pebblebee warns that doing so activates the siren and strobe. Its setup guidance specifically cautions users to be prepared for both before separating the device.

Specifications and compatibility details are listed on Pebblebee’s Halo product page. The page lists Android 9+ and age- and country-related eligibility conditions, as well as optional Apple Find My or Google Find Hub support. Check the current listing for your country and phone before buying; the stated compatibility should not be read as universal availability.

Pebblebee says Halo includes a complimentary 12-month Alert Live subscription, with live location sharing and additional Safety Circle members free for the first year. The reviewed product information does not state what those features cost after that period or whether a subscription renews automatically, so check the terms presented at purchase and in the app.
Is Halo a personal safety device or an item tracker?
It is both, but the distinction matters: its pull-apart siren, strobe, and Safety Circle sharing are personal-safety functions, while Apple Find My or Google Find Hub support provides item-finding functionality. A tracker network does not remove the need to configure the Pebblebee app and Safety Circle for the safety features, or the phone and network requirements for location sharing.
Quick Recap
Use the alarm and light carefully
- Expect a loud siren and flashing strobe when pulling Halo apart; do not activate it casually or in an enclosed setting without considering the effect.
- Do not shine the flashlight or strobe directly into anyone’s eyes.
- Check your Safety Circle, location permissions, Bluetooth, and network access before you depend on location sharing.
- Keep a phone and a way to contact local emergency services available; Halo does not independently summon responders.
