Peacock is the more relevant fit when its NBC and Bravo programming or live sports and events matter to you; Netflix may suit households focused on its own titles, ad-free viewing, or higher-resolution playback. The tier you need changes both the price and what you can watch, so check the current catalog, plan details, and checkout total before subscribing.
Start with the shows, films, and events you actually want
Search each service for the specific series, movie, sport, or event that would make the subscription worthwhile. Catalogs and rights change, and neither service’s plan page guarantees that a particular title will remain available. Peacock describes Premium and Premium Plus as including live sports and events and TV favorites from NBC and Bravo, but that does not mean every event is included. Its Select tier excludes sports, movies, and Peacock Originals. Netflix’s plans cover its movies, shows, and games, but some titles are not available on its ad-supported tier because of licensing restrictions.
For a sports or event, verify both that Peacock lists the specific event and that it is available in the tier you intend to buy. For Netflix, check whether a desired title is available on the ad-supported plan before choosing the lower-priced option.
Compare the plans and the features you would use
The plans below are listed on the services’ US pages. Features and prices may change; use the linked official pages and your checkout screen to confirm current terms. Netflix lists monthly prices in US dollars. Peacock’s displayed prices have varied by page context; its Help page lists Premium Plus at $19.99 monthly or $199.99 annually, plus tax.

| Peacock Premium Plus | $19.99/month or $199.99/year, plus tax, according to Peacock Help. Choose based on ads, price, and video quality
If you want to spend less
Netflix Standard with ads has a published US price of $8.99 a month, but it includes ads and some licensed titles are unavailable. Peacock Select is another lower-tier option, but its TV-with-ads offering excludes sports, movies, and Peacock Originals. Compare what you would actually watch on each rather than treating either entry-level plan as equivalent to the service’s full catalog.
If you want fewer interruptions
Netflix Standard and Premium are described as ad-free. Peacock Premium Plus is advertised as having no ads with limited exceptions, not as completely ad-free: ads remain in channels, live sports and events, and some programming. Peacock Premium includes ads. Compare the specific tier and content type, not just the service name.

If picture quality matters
Netflix lists 1080p Full HD for Standard with ads and Standard, and 4K Ultra HD plus HDR for Premium. Actual playback also depends on a compatible device and adequate internet capability. The cited Peacock plan details do not establish comparable resolution specifications, so check Peacock’s current service information if resolution is a deciding factor.
If you are comparing annual billing
Peacock Help lists Premium Plus at $19.99 monthly or $199.99 annually, plus tax. Netflix says it does not offer annual, multi-month, or lifetime memberships on its cited US plan page. Peacock’s plan page can display different prices by context, so verify the amount and billing cadence at checkout; taxes may apply. Netflix pricing and extra-member eligibility may differ when it is billed through a package or add-on.

Check household viewing, profiles, and downloads
Concurrent viewing means the number of devices that can watch at the same time; it is different from the number of profiles or devices that can hold downloads.
| Plan | Watching at the same time | Profiles or downloads |
|---|---|---|
| Peacock Premium | Up to three simultaneous devices. (Peacock Help) | Up to six profiles. (Peacock Help) |
| Netflix Standard with ads | Two supported devices. (Netflix US plans) | Downloads on two supported devices at a time. (Netflix US plans) |
| Netflix Standard | Two supported devices. (Netflix US plans) | Downloads on two supported devices at a time; one paid extra member may be added subject to eligibility. (Netflix US plans) |
| Netflix Premium | Four supported devices. (Netflix US plans) | Downloads on six supported devices at a time; up to two paid extra members may be added subject to eligibility. (Netflix US plans) |
Peacock’s cited profile help gives the profile and simultaneous-device limits for Premium; it does not establish equivalent figures here for every Peacock tier. If multiple people regularly stream at once, match the plan’s concurrent-device limit to your household’s use.

Peacock lists platforms including Fire TV devices running Fire OS 6 or later and Google TV; its supported-devices page is the place to verify a particular device. Netflix’s plan page describes features, but confirm device compatibility and playback requirements before paying for a plan based on 4K or HDR.

- Check current billing terms. Confirm monthly or annual billing, taxes, packages, and the amount shown at checkout before subscribing.
- Verify your devices. Check the exact model and system version against current support information before buying additional hardware.
