Pass Designer es una aplicación beta para Mac que permite diseñar y previsualizar pases de Apple Wallet, pero no los emite por sí sola. Apple indica que requiere macOS 27 o posterior. La aplicación guarda un archivo de plantilla que todavía debe compilarse y firmarse antes de distribuir un pase.
Qué puedes hacer con Pass Designer
Pass Designer permite partir de una plantilla o de un documento vacío y personalizar el estilo, los campos, los colores y las imágenes de un pase. Su vista previa se actualiza mientras editas; Apple afirma que usa la misma representación que iOS y watchOS. Aun así, la apariencia y la información visible pueden variar según el dispositivo, por lo que conviene revisar cada destino previsto.
La herramienta también señala problemas de configuración, como valores obligatorios ausentes o definiciones inesperadas. Al guardar, crea un paquete .pkpasstemplate: es una plantilla de trabajo, no un pase listo para instalar.
Requisitos y disponibilidad
La página de Pass Designer de Apple describe la aplicación como una beta para Mac que requiere macOS 27 o posterior. La documentación citada no identifica modelos concretos de Mac compatibles; comprueba la compatibilidad del equipo y la disponibilidad vigentes antes de instalarla.

Los seis estilos de pase
Al crear un documento, puedes elegir una plantilla que carga campos y ubicaciones de imagen pertinentes para el formato. Apple documenta estos seis estilos:
- Pase de abordar: para vuelos, trenes y otros medios de transporte; puede incluir la modalidad de transporte.
- Cupón: para ofertas y descuentos.
- Genérico: para pases que no encajan en los estilos específicos, como membresías de gimnasio o comprobantes de guardarropa.
- Tarjeta de tienda: para programas de fidelidad, descuentos, puntos o tarjetas regalo.
- Entrada para eventos: para conciertos, cine, teatro, deportes y pases de temporada.
- Genérico tipo póster: un estilo genérico actualizado, apropiado para usos como membresías o entradas de museo.
Estos estilos organizan el diseño; no garantizan por sí mismos que un pase se integre con los sistemas de un emisor o proveedor externo. Apple explica las plantillas en su guía de creación de pases con Pass Designer.

Flujo de trabajo: del diseño a un pase distribuible
- Instala y abre la aplicación en un Mac compatible. El requisito publicado para la beta es macOS 27 o posterior.
- Elige una plantilla o empieza en blanco. La plantilla aporta una estructura inicial que puedes adaptar al tipo de pase.
- Configura la identidad y el diseño. Ajusta la información de la empresa, los campos, los colores y las imágenes. Para incorporar información de identidad y firma, Apple describe la importación de datos de un certificado Pass Type ID ya creado.
- Edita y revisa la vista previa. Comprueba la legibilidad, el contenido y el aspecto en los dispositivos a los que se destina el pase.
- Corrige las alertas y guarda. Pass Designer puede indicar problemas como claves obligatorias sin valor. El resultado guardado es un paquete
.pkpasstemplate. - Continúa con la compilación y la firma. Apple documenta por separado cómo construir y distribuir pases. El paquete puede entregarse a Pass Builder, un paquete Swift Server para compilar y firmar pases, o procesarse mediante el flujo de construcción descrito por Apple.
La documentación general de Wallet Passes separa el diseño de los pasos necesarios para construir y distribuir el pase. Por eso, crear un diseño en Pass Designer no equivale a generar automáticamente un archivo instalable ni a ponerlo en circulación.
Etiquetas semánticas y compatibilidad
En pases de abordar y entradas para eventos, las etiquetas semánticas describen datos estructurados, como la fecha de un evento, su ubicación o los detalles de un vuelo. El sistema puede usar esos datos en funciones como sugerencias de Siri, Calendar y Mapas. Pass Designer permite editar las etiquetas y comparar una representación semántica con otra que no las usa; también puede generar una estructura compatible hacia atrás a partir de los datos semánticos.

Apple recomienda conservar campos de texto para que la información siga estando disponible en sistemas que no admitan el diseño semántico. Si añades más campos de los que caben en la cara del pase, algunos no aparecerán allí, aunque seguirán formando parte de la información del pase. Consulta las indicaciones de Apple sobre creación de pases y compatibilidad semántica.
Qué revisar antes de terminar el diseño
- Vista previa por dispositivo: revisa el pase tanto en iPhone como en Apple Watch cuando ambos sean destinos. Wallet puede mostrar menos información o imágenes en el reloj.
- Legibilidad: comprueba que etiquetas y texto contrasten con los colores y las imágenes de fondo.
- Información esencial: no dependas de elementos que podrían no estar disponibles en todos los dispositivos para comunicar datos importantes.
- Códigos de barras: considéralos parte del flujo práctico del pase; Apple los describe como útiles para escanear pases de abordar y cupones.
- Campos: prioriza lo que debe verse en la cara del pase y conserva campos de texto cuando uses datos semánticos.

¿Puede reemplazar una herramienta de diseño de terceros?
Depende de lo que necesites. Pass Designer ofrece una vía de Apple para preparar y previsualizar diseños de pases; el proceso de compilación, firma y distribución sigue siendo necesario. Si tu requisito principal es gestionar pases a escala o integrarlos en un flujo empresarial, evalúa por separado esas funciones y el proceso de emisión.
