Paralives Studio has delayed the game’s first major update beyond its original end-of-2026 target. In an October 23, 2026 development update, the team said it needs more time to finish a fundamentals-focused release and did not provide a replacement date. The update is intended to strengthen relationships, autonomy, progression, building reliability and character customization before larger systems such as weather, seasons and pets arrive in later major updates.
When is Paralives’ first major update coming?
The first major update is now expected sometime after 2026, but Paralives Studio has not announced a new release date. The previous roadmap milestone was Q4 2026; the October 23 announcement supersedes that target for practical planning.
“We originally announced that this first major update would be released for the end of 2026 but we need a little more time to do all this well,” the team said. That means players should treat 2027 as the earliest reasonable calendar expectation, not as a confirmed launch window.

Why was the update delayed?
The studio says it reviewed “hundreds of thousands of feedback reports, emails, messages, and comments” from players. That review led it to prioritize core systems rather than ship a smaller collection of headline features. The stated goal is to make the fundamentals work better across the game’s main modes.

This is a scope-and-quality delay, not an announced cancellation. The studio has continued development during Early Access, reporting eight patches, eight hotfixes, an upgrade to Unity 6, and new hires including a senior programmer, senior game designer and QA staff.
What will the first major update add to Live Mode?
Live Mode receives the broadest set of planned changes. The work combines relationship depth, more readable social interactions, stronger autonomy and a rebalance of progression and money.
Relationships and social play
- Relationship labels such as friend, lover or enemy will unlock additional content as they increase.
- Townies will be able to prompt players through Together Cards.
- New cards should make it easier to flirt, joke, act mean or get to know other Parafolks.
- More emotion-triggered interactions are planned, along with talking animations during group activities such as eating and watching television.
- Personality is intended to influence autonomous actions more strongly, so Parafolks behave less generically without direct player commands.
Traits, rewards and stories
The Jester vibe trait is being reworked so its effects read more clearly as humorous. Community Center bundles, townie-request rewards and life-goal rewards are also due for improvement.
Story Cards will be expanded with more nightly options and additional customization parameters. The update is also expected to add more Together Cards and relationship-label unlockables.

Skills and jobs
The studio lists two new skills and related interactions, plus several new jobs. The job field has not yet been revealed, so specific careers should not be treated as confirmed.
Economy and progression
Paralives’ economy is planned for a substantial rebalance because the team says money is currently too easy to obtain. Starting money, starting lots, item prices and salary progression will all be adjusted.
Furniture and objects should also have clearer economic value. More expensive items are planned to provide more efficient effects, while upgrades should feel worthwhile rather than cosmetic purchases that players can reach immediately.

How will Build Mode change?
Build Mode improvements focus first on reliability. The studio is targeting bugs that can make homes unusable, including disappearing floors or objects and corrupted lots that fail to load.

The update should add furniture and other catalog items, while changing how item value affects play. Lower-value furniture is planned to be less efficient. Higher-value items should provide stronger effects, break less often and replenish needs faster. Those are planned design goals, not published performance measurements, so the exact values may change before release.
What is planned for Paramaker?
Paramaker, Paralives’ character editor, is set to receive a wider range of fat and muscle sliders, new hairstyles and additional clothing. The team specifically cited baggier clothing as an example of requested content already in progress.
These changes expand both body-shape control and wardrobe variety, addressing customization requests without requiring the larger world systems that are being held for later updates.

What has changed in Paralives while players wait?
Patch 0.1.9, released October 8, 2026, followed the Unity 6 engine upgrade. Paralives Studio said most players should see a slight performance increase, with framerate improving by up to 15%. The same patch added extracurricular classes and mod filtering.
That “up to 15%” figure is the studio’s stated expectation, not a guarantee for every computer. Actual results can vary with hardware, graphics settings, drivers and the complexity of a save.

The practical trade-off is a later release in exchange for a wider systems pass. Instead of centering the update on one marquee addition, Paralives Studio is working on the relationship and autonomy loop, rewards, economy, construction stability and character tools that players use repeatedly.
Because no replacement date or final feature lock has been published, details can still change. Treat the listed improvements as the studio’s current plan and wait for a launch announcement before assuming that every item will ship together.
