Our in-depth Strikingly review finds that Strikingly is a good website builder for fast, simple websites, portfolios, service businesses, small stores, and memberships—but not a universal replacement for Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, or WordPress. Pro is the most practical plan for many professional users, while complex ecommerce, publishing, SEO, and backend projects should look elsewhere.
Strikingly’s appeal is straightforward: the hosted platform combines templates, visual section editing, managed hosting, SSL, forms, blogging, analytics, ecommerce, and memberships without requiring users to administer a server or traditional content-management system. That simplicity is valuable, but the same guided approach limits layout control, technical extensibility, and long-term scalability.
Key takeaways
- Strikingly is best suited to compact business websites, portfolios, event pages, landing pages, creator sites, and small online stores.
- The current annual-billing prices displayed by Strikingly are $8 per month for Limited, $16 per month for Pro, and $49 per month for VIP; those figures are annual-billing equivalents, not necessarily month-to-month prices.
- Pro is the practical starting point for many professional sites because it includes three Pro sites, up to 100 pages per site, up to 300 products, custom forms, memberships, site search, custom code, and no Strikingly branding.
- Strikingly’s Simple Store charges a 5% platform transaction fee on Limited and 2% on Pro; VIP advertises a 0% Strikingly transaction fee, but payment-processor fees still apply.
- Pro and VIP support front-end HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but Strikingly does not provide backend-code access.
- Strikingly offers baseline SEO, blogging, analytics, forms, and membership tools, but large publications, advanced SEO programs, complex stores, and custom applications may outgrow the platform.
What is Strikingly, and who is it for?
Strikingly is a hosted, no-code website builder designed to help users publish websites with prebuilt templates and editable content sections. Strikingly handles the hosting infrastructure, SSL, and much of the technical maintenance, so the user can focus on pages, text, images, forms, products, and site settings. The company describes its plans as including fully managed cloud hosting on its official pricing page.
Strikingly is a particularly good match for a freelancer, consultant, coach, photographer, artist, restaurant, local service provider, nonprofit, club, author, musician, or event organizer that needs a credible web presence without managing a conventional CMS. Strikingly can also suit a small seller with a modest catalog or a membership operator with relatively simple gated content.

- Ergonomic Posture Correction: Designed to elevate your laptop to the perfect eye level, this adjustable laptop stand significantly reduces neck, shoulder, and spinal fatigue. Transform your desk into a healthier workstation, ideal for long hours of typing, Zoom meetings, or gaming.
- Unshakable Dual-Rod Stability: Unlike single-hinge models, our stand features a highly engineered dual-support rod mechanism. It perfectly distributes weight to ensure a 100% wobble-free typing experience, safely supporting heavy-duty devices up to 22 lbs (10kg).
- Advanced Thermal Cooling Panel: Maximize your device's performance. The unique geometric heat-vent design on the upper panel provides superior airflow compared to standard solid stands. This continuous heat dissipation prevents your laptop from thermal throttling and hardware damage during intensive tasks.
- Universal 10-16” Compatibility: A versatile computer riser that seamlessly fits all 10 to 16-inch laptops. Broadly compatible with MacBook Pro/Air, Dell XPS, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Chromebook, and large gaming laptops. The anti-slip silicone pads firmly grip your device and protect it from scratches.
- Foldable, Portable & Ready to Go: Maximize your productivity anywhere. The dual-foldable design allows the stand to collapse completely flat in seconds. Easily slip it into your backpack or briefcase, making it the ultimate portable office accessory for business trips, cafes, or hybrid work setups.
Strikingly is a weaker match for a large ecommerce operation, a publication with sophisticated editorial workflows, a website with complex taxonomies, an international organization needing granular localization and user roles, or a business that requires databases and server-side application logic.
The important distinction is not simply whether a website has one page or 100 pages. Strikingly now permits substantially more pages on higher plans, but the platform still favors a guided, section-based structure over the open-ended flexibility of WordPress, the broader visual control of some design-focused builders, or the specialized commerce workflows of Shopify.
How does Strikingly work?
Strikingly starts with a template or an assisted website-building flow, after which the user edits sections visually rather than constructing pages from code. Common changes such as replacing images, editing text, changing colors and fonts, adding buttons, adjusting navigation, and inserting contact or store sections are intended to happen inside the editor.
Managed hosting and SSL remove two common beginner concerns: finding compatible web hosting and configuring a basic secure connection. Strikingly also brings forms, a blog, a store, analytics, and app integrations into the same hosted environment.
That convenience comes from restricting the design problem. Strikingly gives users a smaller set of layouts and section patterns than a fully open design system. The result can be a coherent, mobile-friendly site with fewer technical decisions, but a user may struggle to reproduce an unusual navigation scheme, highly bespoke spacing system, complex content relationship, or application-like interaction.
Strikingly is therefore easy in the sense that it reduces complexity. That does not mean every site will be finished in a fixed number of minutes, nor does it mean every design request can be implemented without workarounds. Before paying, users should create a representative draft containing the sections, navigation, forms, products, and mobile layout that the finished site will actually need.
How much does Strikingly cost?
Strikingly’s pricing snapshot supplied for this review is dated August 18, 2026. The public pricing page displays the Limited, Pro, and VIP figures below as monthly equivalents when billed yearly. The total charged, renewal terms, applicable taxes, domain offer, and available monthly options should be confirmed at checkout because Strikingly’s pricing documentation has displayed different billing information at different times.

| Limited | $8/month, billed yearly | Two Limited sites; up to five pages per site | 1 GB storage per site; 50 GB bandwidth | One product; 5% Strikingly transaction fee | Custom domain and SSL, but branding and advanced-feature restrictions remain |
| Pro | $16/month, billed yearly | Three Pro sites; up to 100 pages per site | 20 GB storage per site; unlimited bandwidth | Up to 300 products; 2% Strikingly transaction fee | No branding, custom forms, memberships, password protection, site search, pop-ups, and custom code |
| VIP | $49/month, billed yearly | Five VIP sites | 100 GB storage per site; unlimited bandwidth | Up to 500 products; 0% Strikingly transaction fee | Multiple membership tiers, multilingual and auto-translation features, newsletters, live chat, priority and phone support, and account-manager access |
These plan figures and feature limits come from Strikingly’s current pricing comparison and its plan-comparison documentation. The Free plan has no custom-domain support and retains Strikingly branding. The Free plan’s documented 500 MB storage and 5 GB monthly bandwidth also make it unsuitable for treating a free site as unlimited business hosting.
Annual billing is not the same as monthly billing
Do not describe Limited as an $8 month-to-month subscription. The public figure is an annual-billing equivalent. Strikingly’s subscription-cost documentation lists Pro at $20 per month under monthly billing, while the reviewed material does not establish a current monthly billing cycle for VIP and says Limited pricing should be confirmed at checkout. Consult the subscription pricing documentation and checkout total before paying.
Strikingly also presents discounted rates for longer billing commitments in its help documentation. A longer commitment may reduce the effective monthly figure but increases the amount paid upfront and makes it more important to assess whether the platform will still fit after the initial launch.

What do the domain and email cost?
Eligible annual paid plans may include a custom domain for the first year, but the offer is not a permanently free domain. Strikingly’s domain documentation says domains purchased through Strikingly start at $24.95 per year, with the exact price depending on the top-level domain, and that domains renew automatically seven days before expiration. See the domain registration and renewal documentation for the current terms.
Strikingly lists custom email at $25 per year on its pricing page, with a domain required. A realistic budget should separate the website subscription, domain renewal, email, payment-processing fees, Strikingly’s store fee where applicable, and any Audience Plan cost.
Is Strikingly really free?
Yes, Strikingly has a free tier, but Free is best understood as a testing, temporary, educational, or very basic personal-site option. A Free site uses a Strikingly subdomain, displays Strikingly branding, has lower storage and bandwidth allowances, and cannot connect a custom domain according to the official plan comparison.
“Free” does not mean a free custom domain, white-label presentation, unlimited storage, unlimited traffic, a professional email address, or full ecommerce functionality. A business can use Free to test the editor and determine whether the section-based design model works, but a branded professional website will usually need a paid plan.
How easy is Strikingly for beginners?
Strikingly is designed for rapid, low-technical-complexity launches. The editor’s visual approach means a beginner can generally work on the visible page rather than learn hosting configuration, theme files, or server administration.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The strongest beginner advantages are:
- Prebuilt templates provide a starting structure.
- Visual sections make ordinary content changes easier than editing raw code.
- Managed hosting and SSL reduce infrastructure decisions.
- Forms, blogs, stores, analytics, and integrations are available within the same platform.
- Responsive presentation is part of the hosted design model rather than a separate deployment task.
The main beginner limitation is that the editor’s simplicity also narrows the available choices. Users can change the site’s visual identity, but they cannot assume that every template can be reshaped into every other template. Unusual layouts, highly precise spacing, advanced navigation, and custom interactive behavior may require a compatible embed, a higher plan, or a different platform.
Before selecting a template, check whether the template’s information architecture matches the business. Rebuilding a site around unsupported sections later can be more frustrating than changing colors or fonts.
How flexible are Strikingly’s templates and design tools?
Strikingly supports visual section editing, template styles, fonts, colors, images, buttons, navigation, and page structure. The approach works well when the desired site resembles a polished landing page or compact business brochure.
Strikingly’s design trade-off is simplicity versus control. A narrower system can prevent inconsistent layouts and reduce the number of decisions facing a beginner. The same system can feel restrictive to a designer who needs precise positioning, complex responsive breakpoints, unconventional content relationships, or complete control of markup.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Pro and VIP add custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Strikingly documents three principal code locations: an HTML Section for embeds, a Header location for code inside the page <head>, and a Footer location for JavaScript and other body-level embeds. The custom-code documentation explicitly limits this capability to front-end code and states that backend code is not supported.

That distinction matters. A compatible booking widget, analytics script, chat tool, or front-end enhancement may work through an embed. Custom authentication, a private database, server-side API processing, complex application logic, or a bespoke checkout cannot be created merely by adding JavaScript to the page. Embedded code can also create performance, accessibility, privacy, and mobile-display problems, so every integration should be tested on phones and in a logged-out browser.
Is Strikingly good for ecommerce?
Strikingly is suitable for a small store with a straightforward catalog, but Strikingly is not a dedicated large-scale ecommerce platform. The practical question is whether the product count, order workflow, payment options, shipping requirements, inventory model, and fees match the store’s expected size.
| Store requirement | Limited | Pro | VIP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Products | Up to 1 | Up to 300 | Up to 500 |
| Strikingly platform transaction fee | 5% | 2% | 0% |
| Payment processor fees | Separate | Separate | Separate |
| Best fit | A single-product offer or test store | A small-to-medium catalog with simple workflows | A larger catalog or a seller for whom eliminating Strikingly’s fee is material |
The plan limits and fees are listed on Strikingly’s pricing page. A 0% VIP platform fee does not mean that selling is fee-free: payment gateways still charge their own fees, and gateway availability depends on the merchant’s country, plan, provider, and store configuration.
Strikingly identifies Stripe, Square, PayPal, offline payments, and regional options such as Taiwan Payment among its payment choices. Support for Google Pay, Afterpay or Clearpay, Klarna, Alipay, and WeChat Pay can vary by region and configuration. The store transaction-fee documentation also notes that payment-gateway fees are separate and that a processor may not return its processing fee when an order is refunded.
For a creator selling a few digital products, a local business selling a small range of physical goods, or a service provider taking simple payments, Strikingly’s integrated store may be pleasantly low-maintenance. A business requiring complex inventory, advanced shipping rules, extensive merchandising, marketplace connections, omnichannel operations, or a very large catalog should investigate Shopify or a specialized ecommerce solution. Ecwid is another option when the preferred site builder is simple but the store needs a more specialized embedded commerce layer.
Does Strikingly work for blogging and publishing?
Strikingly’s Simple Blog can support a small business blog, creator journal, or modest content archive. Documented features include categories, RSS, post management, multiple blog sections, post URL controls, cover-image customization, password protection, comments, email subscriptions, Google Analytics support, and SEO settings for posts. Strikingly groups these features in its Simple Blog Help Center section.
That feature list should not be confused with an unrestricted publishing CMS. A high-volume publication should investigate editorial roles, approval workflows, internal linking, taxonomy, redirects, structured data, media handling, archive navigation, export options, and portability before moving a large content operation to Strikingly.
Recommended Free Tools
Custom code for blog posts is available on Pro and above, but front-end code placement does not provide backend CMS control. Strikingly can be a sensible home for content that supports a small business website; WordPress is generally the more natural candidate to investigate when the content operation itself is the main product.
How capable are Strikingly’s SEO and analytics tools?
Strikingly provides baseline SEO controls rather than promising a complete technical-SEO platform. Documented capabilities include page titles, meta descriptions and tags, image alt text, heading tags, sitemap submission, Google Search Console verification, built-in analytics, Google Analytics 4, Facebook Pixel, and page-speed and SEO guidance. These tools are documented in Strikingly’s Analytics and SEO Help Center section.
Strikingly is therefore adequate for many branded local searches, service pages, portfolios, and small sites where clear page content and basic on-page optimization are the main requirements. The platform may become limiting for large-scale content production, highly granular technical SEO, complex international SEO, programmatic pages, extensive schema customization, server configuration, or backend rendering requirements.

Strikingly does not need to be called incapable of ranking. Search visibility depends on content, relevance, authority, competition, technical implementation, and many factors beyond the builder. The more accurate verdict is that Strikingly supplies the basic controls many small sites need, while sophisticated SEO teams should verify whether the platform exposes every control their program requires.

Does Strikingly support forms and lead collection?
Strikingly’s custom forms are available on Pro and higher plans. Documented field types include short text, long text, email, phone, dropdown, checkbox, radio button, file upload, address, date, and time. Responses can be viewed, filtered, and exported as CSV through the custom-form documentation and form-response export documentation.
Those tools are useful for contact requests, appointment inquiries, applications, event registrations, and small-business lead collection. They may be insufficient when the workflow needs CRM routing, advanced segmentation, multi-step forms, sophisticated consent management, complex marketing automation, or team-based assignment and follow-up.
Before recommending Pro for lead generation, identify where submissions must go and who will process them. CSV export is useful for a small operation, but exporting a spreadsheet is not the same as an automated CRM workflow.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsHow do Strikingly memberships work?
Strikingly supports free memberships, paid subscriptions, and members-only pages on Pro and VIP. Pro includes one membership tier and up to 100 members, while VIP supports up to five membership tiers and up to 2,000 members according to Strikingly’s membership documentation dated February 4, 2026. An Audience Plan can expand audience capacity, but pricing for that add-on was not established in the reviewed sources.
| Membership consideration | Pro | VIP |
|---|---|---|
| Membership tiers | 1 | Up to 5 |
| Documented member capacity | Up to 100 members | Up to 2,000 members |
| Paid subscriptions | Supported | Supported |
| Members-only pages | Supported; multiple pages are required for gated content | Supported; multiple pages are required for gated content |
| When to reconsider | When the audience may exceed 100 or needs several tiers | When the project needs a specialized community, learning-management, or membership CRM |
Strikingly’s membership feature is a reasonable fit for a modest paid community, private resource area, club, coaching program, or subscription offering. It is not automatically a substitute for a learning-management system, community platform, or full membership CRM. Estimate the number of members, tiers, protected pages, payment flows, and communications requirements before choosing a plan. See the official membership documentation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What are Strikingly’s hosting and support advantages?
Strikingly’s managed hosting is a meaningful benefit for users who do not want to purchase, configure, update, or troubleshoot separate web hosting. Paid plans include SSL for custom domains, and the pricing page advertises 24/7 chat support on Limited and Pro.
VIP advertises priority customer service, English-language phone support, and dedicated account-manager access. Phone support may be subject to geographic, language, or plan conditions, so a buyer who considers telephone assistance essential should confirm the exact availability before subscribing.
Two important ownership questions were not fully resolved by the reviewed sources: whether users can independently export a complete site backup and exactly what happens to site content after cancellation. Those questions matter to any business that may eventually migrate. Ask Strikingly directly, retain copies of original text and media, and do not treat a hosted builder as automatically equivalent to a portable self-hosted CMS.

Which alternatives should you investigate?
No single alternative is best for every Strikingly user. The right comparison depends on whether the priority is design freedom, store operations, publishing control, or minimal setup.
| Need | Candidate to investigate | Why it may fit better | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| More visual flexibility and app integrations | Wix | Broader visual editing and a larger app ecosystem may suit more complex business sites. | More choices can increase learning and plan-selection complexity. |
| Design-led multipage website | Squarespace | Often worth investigating for polished portfolios, service businesses, and content-led brands. | May be less focused on the fastest possible setup. |
| Serious ecommerce | Shopify | Better suited to larger catalogs, inventory-heavy operations, and store growth. | More operational complexity than a simple brochure site needs. |
| Ownership, publishing, and extensibility | WordPress | Provides a large plugin and theme ecosystem and greater control over content and functionality. | Hosting, security, updates, backups, plugins, and maintenance require responsibility from the user or a managed provider. |
| Minimal one-page landing site | Carrd | A focused option for extremely simple landing pages and personal sites. | Less suitable for stores, blogs, memberships, and broader business functions. |
| Advanced visual and structural control | Webflow | More sophisticated design and layout capabilities may suit designers and teams. | Less beginner-friendly and more time-intensive. |
| Specialized store embedded in a simple site | Ecwid | May provide a more specialized commerce layer when a built-in Simple Store is not enough. | Adds another service and integration to manage. |
Which Strikingly plan should you choose?
- Choose Free if the site is experimental, personal, temporary, or educational and a Strikingly subdomain and branding are acceptable.
- Choose Limited if you need a custom domain for a very small site, can accept Strikingly branding, need no more than five pages, and sell no more than one product.
- Choose Pro if the site represents a professional business, needs branding removed, has more than five pages, uses custom forms, requires memberships or password protection, needs site search or custom code, or sells multiple products.
- Choose VIP if you need up to 500 products, multiple membership tiers, a larger audience, multilingual or auto-translation features, priority or phone support, an account manager, or the financial benefit of removing Strikingly’s platform transaction fee.
- Choose another platform if you already know the project needs a large catalog, complex inventory and shipping, sophisticated publishing, advanced technical or international SEO, server-side code, extensive integrations, self-hosting, or complete portability.
What should you test before subscribing?
A short pre-purchase test can reveal more than a feature checklist. Build a representative draft and verify the following:
- Can the selected template present the required pages, navigation, calls to action, and mobile layout?
- Does the Free or Limited plan retain branding or impose a page, product, storage, or bandwidth limit that affects the real site?
- Can the store support the required payment gateway in the merchant’s country?
- Have you calculated the plan fee, Strikingly transaction fee, payment-processor fee, shipping, taxes, domain renewal, email, and possible Audience Plan costs?
- Can the forms collect every required field and can the team process exported responses?
- Does the membership limit match the expected audience and number of tiers?
- Can the required third-party widgets work without backend code?
- Can the site meet the SEO, analytics, redirects, structured-data, and international requirements?
- Have you asked Strikingly about complete backups, migration, and post-cancellation content access?
Final verdict: is Strikingly the builder for you?
Strikingly is a good choice when reducing setup and maintenance matters more than unlimited flexibility. The platform is strongest for fast, visually presentable websites with relatively simple content, products, forms, or memberships. For many professional small-business users, Pro is the plan worth examining first because Limited’s five-page and one-product limits are restrictive, while VIP’s higher cost is justified mainly by larger stores, audiences, multilingual features, fee savings, or premium support.
Strikingly is not the right default for every website. Choose Shopify for serious ecommerce, WordPress for maximum publishing and extensibility, Wix or Squarespace for broader conventional website design, Carrd for a minimal one-page project, Webflow for greater visual control, or Ecwid when the site needs a more specialized embedded store.
The final decision should be based on the website’s expected size and future requirements, not the lowest advertised monthly number. If the site is likely to remain compact and the guided editor fits the design, Strikingly can be an efficient choice. If large catalogs, complex publishing, advanced SEO, backend logic, or unrestricted ownership are already on the roadmap, selecting a more extensible platform at the beginning will probably avoid a later migration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Strikingly good for a small business website?
Strikingly is good for a small business that needs a fast, presentable site with straightforward pages, contact forms, analytics, and possibly a small store. Pro is usually the more practical professional plan because it removes branding, allows up to 100 pages per site, and includes custom forms and other advanced features.
Does Strikingly charge transaction fees?
Strikingly charges a 5% platform transaction fee on Limited and a 2% platform transaction fee on Pro; VIP advertises a 0% Strikingly transaction fee. Payment-processor fees remain separate on every plan and vary by provider and region.
Can Strikingly replace WordPress?
Strikingly can replace WordPress for a compact brochure site, portfolio, simple blog, or modest membership site, but it is not an equivalent replacement for advanced publishing, backend development, extensive customization, or maximum platform portability.
Can I use custom code on Strikingly?
Pro and VIP support front-end HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in HTML sections, headers, and footers. Strikingly does not provide backend-code access, so custom code cannot turn the builder into a server-side application platform.
Is Strikingly suitable for a large online store?
Strikingly is generally better for a small store than a large online store. Limited allows one product, Pro allows up to 300 products, and VIP allows up to 500 products, but businesses with complex inventory, shipping, merchandising, marketplace, or omnichannel requirements should investigate a dedicated ecommerce platform such as Shopify.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Choose Strikingly for a fast, managed website that can stay relatively simple. Start by examining Pro if you need a professional business site, multiple products, forms, memberships, custom code, or no platform branding. Choose VIP only when its larger store and membership limits, multilingual tools, support, or 0% Strikingly platform fee justify the cost. Choose another platform when advanced ecommerce, publishing, SEO, backend functionality, or portability is central to the project.
