OpenRazer 3.11.0 adds the 2025 Razer Blade 14, Blade 16, and Blade 18, plus several named Razer peripherals, to its new-device list. The release is dated 27 October 2025. This is useful compatibility evidence for GNU/Linux users, but it does not mean every feature or hardware revision is supported; check your device’s exact ID against the stable-release list.

What OpenRazer 3.11.0 adds

What OpenRazer does on Linux

OpenRazer is an open-source driver and user-space daemon for controlling Razer lighting and other device features on GNU/Linux. It is separate from Razer’s Windows software. The project’s README describes fully feature-supported devices as having their available USB-controllable functions exposed through the library.

That description is narrower than a promise of complete feature parity with Razer’s Windows applications. A device appearing in 3.11.0’s new-device list does not establish that every advertised function, configuration utility, or hardware revision works in every Linux setup.

How to check whether your exact Razer device is supported

  1. Identify the exact model and device ID. A product family name alone may not distinguish hardware revisions.
  2. Check the stable-release support list. Match the device ID to the list for the OpenRazer stable release you intend to use, rather than assuming that a mention of a similar model covers yours.
  3. Check your distribution’s package version. Some distributions provide OpenRazer through official repositories, but package versions can differ. Confirm the current version for your distribution before following installation instructions.

OpenRazer’s troubleshooting guide recommends checking a device ID against the stable-release list and notes that some Linux distributions package OpenRazer in their official repositories. The guide’s advice is a starting point for compatibility checks, not a guarantee that all functions work on a particular distribution.

What the 3.11.0 announcement does—and does not—tell you

The release establishes that OpenRazer lists the named models as newly supported devices. It does not provide a feature-by-feature matrix for each addition or establish universal compatibility across Linux distributions and device revisions. If you need a particular function—such as a lighting control—verify that the project exposes it for your exact device instead of inferring it from the model’s presence in the release notes.
