Short answer: OneStream Live’s documented 24/7 workflow schedules prerecorded video through its cloud service, so you should not automatically count the broadcast as a continuous upload from your home broadband. Your connection is still used to upload or access the video and manage the account. If a local encoder sends the live stream from home, data use scales with its bitrate: at 5 Mbps, a continuous stream transfers about 54 GB per day or 1,620 GB (1.62 decimal TB) in 30 days, before overhead.
Does OneStream Live use your broadband all day?
OneStream’s 24/7 setup guide describes scheduling prerecorded video to YouTube through OneStream. The guide does not say that your home connection must upload the finished broadcast continuously for its full duration. Your home broadband is still used to upload or access the source media and to manage your account.
OneStream’s overview describes its service as receiving a stream and distributing it to destination platforms, and its 24/7 YouTube feature as looping prerecorded content. That distinction separates the initial media transfer from the continuing broadcast; it does not establish exact data accounting for every account or setup.
Check the plan and scheduling limits
OneStream states that 24/7 streaming is YouTube-only, requires an Enterprise plan, and can be scheduled for up to 30 days. Confirm your current account plan and the feature’s availability before planning a continuous broadcast.

How much data does a local 24/7 stream use?
If your computer or another local encoder sends video continuously through your broadband connection, estimate data from the stream’s sustained bitrate and runtime. At a constant 1 Mbps, a stream transfers about 10.8 decimal GB in 24 hours or 324 decimal GB over 30 days. Multiply those figures by the bitrate in Mbps.
The following estimates use YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrates and assume an uninterrupted stream at a constant bitrate. They apply only when that stream travels over your household connection—not automatically to OneStream’s cloud-hosted prerecorded workflow.

| YouTube H.264 setting | YouTube recommended bitrate | Approx. data per day | Approx. data per 30 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | 32.4 GB | 972 GB |
| 720p60 | 8 Mbps | 86.4 GB | 2,592 GB |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | 54 GB | 1,620 GB (1.62 decimal TB) |
| 1080p60 | 14 Mbps | 151.2 GB | 4,536 GB (4.536 decimal TB) |
The figures are decimal GB/TB calculations from bitrate, not measurements of an Indian ISP or a particular household account. Actual traffic can vary with bitrate changes, audio, protocol overhead, retries, other uploads, and how an ISP counts data. Treat them as estimates, not as a prediction of a bill.
Calculation method
For decimal gigabytes, use:
GB = Mbps × seconds × 1,000,000 ÷ 8 ÷ 1,000,000,000

- NIGHTHAWK WIFI 6 ROUTER FOR YOUR WHOLE HOME: Delivers fast, reliable WiFi across every room of your apartment or small home for streaming, gaming, video calls, and smart home devices, all running at the same time without slowing each other down.
- WORKS WITH YOUR EXISTING INTERNET SERVICE: Pairs with your existing modem or gateway via ethernet. Compatible with most cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite providers. Some gateways and modem router combos may require bridge mode. No coax needed.
- SET UP AND MANAGE YOUR NETWORK WITH THE NIGHTHAWK APP: Download the free Nighthawk app on iOS or Android for guided setup. Manage WiFi, run speed tests, pause devices, and set up guest networks from anywhere. Active internet required.
- READY FOR THE DEVICES YOU ALREADY OWN: Your phones, laptops, and TVs work right out of the box. WiFi 6 delivers speeds up to 1.8 Gbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Backward compatible with WiFi 5 and earlier.
- COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.
For a 30-day estimate at 5 Mbps: 10.8 GB per day × 5 × 30 = 1,620 GB. Use the actual configured bitrate where possible; a resolution label alone may not tell you what your encoder sends.
How much upload speed does a local stream need?
YouTube’s official H.264 recommendations are 3 Mbps for 720p30, 8 Mbps for 720p60, 5 Mbps for 1080p30, and 14 Mbps for 1080p60. These are platform recommendations, not evidence of speeds available on a particular Indian broadband line. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.

Your sustained upload capacity must accommodate the total outgoing stream bitrate. Download speed alone does not establish whether the connection can carry a live upload. YouTube advises: “We recommend running a speed test to test your upload bitrate.” Run a speed test at the location and time you expect to stream, test before going live, and monitor stream health. A speed-test peak does not prove that the connection will remain stable around the clock. YouTube’s streaming tips also cover connection testing.
How to estimate your own Indian broadband use
- Identify the stream path. Is OneStream scheduling prerecorded video from the cloud, or is a local encoder sending the broadcast over your home connection? Do not add the full broadcast bitrate to home usage unless the video is actually being sent that way.
- Find the actual outgoing bitrate. Check the encoder’s configured bitrate and account for audio and any variable bitrate behavior. Use the actual setting rather than assuming all streams at the same resolution use the same amount of data.
- Calculate runtime usage. For a local continuous stream, multiply 10.8 GB by bitrate in Mbps for each day. For 30 days, multiply 324 GB by bitrate in Mbps.
- Check connection performance. Measure upload speed and stability at the streaming location. Compare sustained upload capability—not advertised download speed—with the total outgoing bitrate.
- Check your ISP’s current terms. Look up the specific plan’s included data, fair-use threshold, and what happens after that threshold. Indian plans and terms vary; the information available here does not establish a countrywide cap or a best provider.
Why there is no single monthly data figure for India
A precise household total depends on your ISP and plan, its data accounting and fair-use terms, your location, the streaming architecture, actual bitrate, and runtime. Those details are not specified here, so no universal Indian broadband allowance or plan recommendation would be reliable. For a cloud prerecorded workflow, consider the source-media transfer and account activity separately from the ongoing broadcast distribution.
