To stream a Hindi playlist from an Indian VPS, create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, copy its stream URL and key into OBS, then add your playlist as a looping source. For one video, use OBS Media Source; for multiple videos, use VLC Video with Loop Playlist enabled. Set the encoder to a profile the VPS can sustain, test the preview and audio, and only then start the broadcast. A VPS is not automatically suitable for unattended 24/7 streaming: verify its sustained compute capacity, graphics environment, outbound bandwidth and provider rules on the exact machine you plan to use.
Before you start
- Your YouTube channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s current eligibility guidance sets the minimum age for live streaming at 16. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility help.
- Install OBS on the VPS and confirm you can operate its graphics environment. To use OBS’s VLC Video source, install VLC as well.
- Confirm that the VPS can sustain the encoding workload and has enough outbound transfer capacity. Advertised download speed alone does not establish usable upload capacity.
- Make sure you have permission to stream every video and audio track in the Hindi playlist. A language or devotional, educational or entertainment context does not itself establish streaming rights.
No particular Indian VPS provider, plan, operating system or headless OBS configuration is established here. Test your chosen setup on the actual VPS before relying on it for a long broadcast.
1. Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → Go Live.
- Open the Stream tab in Live Control Room. Create a new encoder stream or schedule one. You may be able to reuse a stream key from an earlier setup.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. YouTube describes the key as a password and address for the feed; treat it like a password.

2. Enter the stream URL and key in OBS
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream.
- Select YouTube as the service if it is available in your OBS version. If you are configuring a custom connection, use the server URL and stream key copied from Live Control Room.
- Paste the URL into the server field and the key into the stream key field, then select Apply and OK.
- Keep the key out of screenshots, public configuration files and logs. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace it in OBS.
YouTube’s live-stream settings help explains stream-key reuse and reset options. YouTube’s documented limits include up to 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key; consult the current eligibility page if you need concurrent streams.

3. Add and loop the Hindi playlist
For a single video file
- In OBS, select or create the scene you want to use.
- In the Sources panel, select + → Media Source, give it a name and choose the video file on the VPS.
- Enable Loop in the Media Source properties. Check the source’s audio and video in the OBS preview.
For a playlist of multiple files
- Install VLC on the VPS if it is not already installed. OBS’s VLC Video source depends on VLC; without it, the source may not appear.
- In the Sources panel, select + → VLC Video.
- Add the playlist files in the order you want them to play and leave Loop Playlist enabled.
- Check that the files load, play in the intended sequence and have audible levels in the preview.
OBS distinguishes the single-file Media Source loop from the multi-file VLC Video playlist. See the OBS Media Sources documentation for the source options.
4. Choose an encoder profile the VPS can sustain
Set the output resolution and frame rate to a level the actual VPS can encode continuously. YouTube’s recommendations vary by resolution, frame rate and codec, so do not apply one bitrate to every profile. As one specific example, YouTube recommends 8 Mbps for H.264 at 720p and 30 fps. Its encoder guidance recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Use RTMP or RTMPS as appropriate for the connection. A profile that looks good in a short test may still overload a VPS during a sustained stream. Watch OBS’s encoding and connection indicators during a longer test, and reduce the resolution, frame rate or bitrate if the machine cannot hold the selected profile steadily.
5. Check upload capacity and test before going public
- Test the VPS’s outbound connection rather than relying on its advertised download speed.
- Allow about 20% more upload bandwidth than the total bitrate sent to YouTube. If you configure a backup feed, include its bitrate in the total when estimating the required capacity. YouTube describes the headroom recommendation in its streaming tips.
- Set up ahead of the scheduled start and start the encoder in advance. Wait for YouTube’s preview in Live Control Room.
- Check that the expected Hindi video is playing, audio is clear and the watch page opens and plays correctly.
- Begin the scheduled broadcast only after the preview checks out, and continue monitoring the stream.
6. Plan for long streams and replays
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that a stream lasting longer than 12 hours will produce a complete one-piece archive. If replay availability matters, plan the broadcast length around this limit and check the resulting archive after the stream.

The OBS and YouTube guidance describes media looping and encoder setup, but does not establish a dependable OBS restart, unattended VPS or failover recipe. A playlist loop does not by itself guarantee that OBS, the VPS or the network will recover after a failure.

YouTube does not receive a signal
- Check that OBS has the correct stream URL and key from the intended stream in Live Control Room.
- Confirm the channel is eligible to stream and that the key has not been reset since it was copied.
- If the key may have been exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update OBS with the new value.
The VLC Video source is missing
Install VLC on the VPS, then reopen or refresh OBS and check the Sources panel again. VLC is required for OBS’s VLC Video source.

The playlist does not repeat
For one file, confirm Loop is enabled in Media Source properties. For multiple files, use VLC Video and confirm Loop Playlist is enabled.
The stream drops frames or the VPS struggles
Check both encoding load and outbound network capacity. A machine that cannot sustain the selected resolution and frame rate may need a less demanding profile. Ensure upload headroom above the total output bitrate, including a backup feed if configured.

The preview appears but the broadcast is not ready
Wait for the preview, then test the actual watch page and listen for audio before starting the scheduled broadcast. Keep monitoring once live so you can catch playback or connection problems.
