For a single Telugu lesson, add it to OBS as a Media Source and enable Loop. For a sequence of lessons, use a VLC Video source with Loop Playlist. In either case, OBS repeats the video locally while sending one encoded live stream to YouTube; use YouTube’s recommended CBR encoding, a 2-second keyframe interval, and a bitrate your upload connection can sustain.
Choose the right OBS source for your lessons

OBS documents the single-file loop behavior in its Media Sources guide. Its VLC source supports playlists and a separate Loop Playlist option; see the same guide for source behavior and VLC requirements.
Set up a single looping lesson
- Open OBS and choose the scene that will carry the lesson.
- In Sources, select + > Media Source. Give the source a recognizable name.
- In the source properties, select the lesson video file and enable Loop.
- Confirm the lesson fills the intended canvas. If it does not, adjust the source to fit the canvas and check that any Telugu text or slides remain legible.
- Start playback and watch through the end-to-beginning transition. Listen for clipped audio or an unwanted gap.
Set up an ordered playlist
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. Match its architecture to OBS: 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
- In Sources, select + > VLC Video.
- Add the lesson files to the playlist in the order you want viewers to see them.
- Enable Loop Playlist. Leave shuffle disabled when the sequence is instructional or otherwise order-dependent.
- Preview the playlist through its last file and back to its first. Check audio levels, transitions, and any lesson text.
- If you use multiple scenes, test what happens when the VLC source becomes hidden. OBS source visibility behavior can affect whether playback continues or restarts when a scene changes.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or select the live stream. Check its privacy and schedule settings.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream, then enter them in OBS’s stream settings. Use RTMPS when available for encrypted transport.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not share it or show it in a public screen recording; if exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.
- Start OBS streaming and confirm that YouTube’s Live Control Room receives the signal and reports stream health before making the stream public.
YouTube says first-time live streaming may take up to 24 hours to become enabled. Its instructions for creating a stream with an encoder and managing stream settings are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder and Manage live stream settings.

Use these OBS video and encoder settings
Telugu does not require a special codec or bitrate. Choose settings based on the lesson’s visual detail, the viewers’ likely connections, and your computer’s encoding capacity. YouTube’s guidance accepts RTMP/RTMPS transport and H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video encoding, with up to 60 fps. The specific bitrate figures below are YouTube’s H.264 recommendations for the stated resolution and frame rate, not a promise that your PC or network can sustain them.

Set OBS output resolution and frame rate to match your target. In OBS output settings, use CBR and set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds; YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds. Select a bitrate appropriate to the codec and target, then confirm your system can encode reliably at that load.

Check upload speed rather than relying on download speed. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload headroom, so do not plan to consume all of a speed-test result with the stream bitrate. For example, an 8 Mbps target needs more than 8 Mbps of measured, stable upload capacity to leave the recommended margin. Choose latency and viewer controls
Latency is the delay between the stream being sent and appearing for viewers. Lower latency can increase buffering risk. For a prerecorded lesson loop without audience interaction, very low latency may offer little benefit; prioritize stable playback. If viewers need to pause or rewind, check the stream’s DVR setting in YouTube Studio. The available viewer controls and playback behavior depend on the stream’s current settings, so verify them in the Live Control Room rather than assuming a particular delay or DVR behavior.

Test the full broadcast before relying on it
- Test the entire route: lesson source, OBS encoding, upload connection, and YouTube playback.
- Include representative audio and movement, and verify the playlist restart or single-video loop transition.
- Check that Telugu script renders correctly in slides, overlays, and subtitles, and is readable at the chosen output resolution. This is a practical quality check, not a special YouTube encoder rule for Telugu.
- Watch YouTube’s stream-health status and messages during the test and broadcast.
- Confirm the stream’s privacy, schedule, key, and selected scene before the intended start.
- Verify you have the necessary rights to every lesson video, music track, image, and other asset. OBS and YouTube encoder settings do not grant permission to use those materials.
YouTube recommends testing with representative audio and movement, then monitoring stream health and messages during the event. See its encoder guidance.
Troubleshoot common loop and stream problems
