Spoiler: Strands #945 answers
Spangram: ARCADEGAMES
Theme words: ASTEROIDS, CENTIPEDE, FROGGER, PONG, SCRAMBLE.
The spangram identifies the theme and stretches from one edge of the grid to the opposite edge. The five remaining answers are classic arcade-game titles. The two answer guides list this same set; one guide’s introduction gives a conflicting total, so this article follows its answer list as corroborated by the second guide.
How Strands hints work
Strands is a themed word-search puzzle. Trace words through neighboring letters in the grid; words may bend, but they do not overlap, and the completed solution uses each letter once. The spangram describes the theme, reaches opposite edges, and is highlighted differently from regular theme answers. Finding three non-theme words earns a hint that reveals letters in a theme answer.
