Yes—the NVIDIA RTX 5880 Ada Generation is a real professional graphics card. NVIDIA lists 14,080 CUDA cores and 48GB of GDDR6 memory with ECC. Its specifications describe a workstation GPU, but they do not establish application performance, current availability, or sales restrictions.
What the RTX 5880 Ada is
NVIDIA identifies the RTX 5880 Ada Generation as a professional GPU. The company’s product page and datasheet list its core, memory, interface, power, and board details. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.
RTX 5880 Ada specifications
| Specification | NVIDIA-listed value |
|---|---|
| CUDA cores | 14,080 |
| Memory | 48GB GDDR6 with ECC |
| Memory interface | 384-bit |
| Memory bandwidth | 960GB/s |
| Tensor Cores | 440 fourth-generation |
| RT Cores | 110 third-generation |
| Single-precision performance | 69.3 TFLOPS |
| Total board power | 285W |
| Host interface | PCIe 4.0 x16 |
| Cooling and form factor | Active cooling; dual-slot |
| Display outputs | Four DisplayPort 1.4 connectors |
All values in the table are NVIDIA specifications; the datasheet publication date is not stated. Peak figures such as TFLOPS and bandwidth do not, by themselves, show how quickly a particular application will run.
What the specifications mean for a workstation
Memory capacity and ECC
The 48GB GDDR6 capacity provides a large pool of GPU memory for workloads that need to keep substantial data or project assets on the card. ECC—error-correcting code—memory is a listed feature for systems where memory reliability matters. Capacity alone does not guarantee a workload will fit: software behavior, model or scene size, and other system limits still matter.

- Thermal Solution: Blower Active Fan
Power, slot space, and connectivity
Before choosing a system, check that its power delivery can support the card’s 285W total board power, that the chassis has room for a dual-slot board, and that airflow suits an actively cooled GPU. The card uses PCIe 4.0 x16, so confirm the workstation’s slot and platform configuration as well as any other expansion-card requirements.
NVIDIA lists four DisplayPort 1.4 connectors. It also lists support for NVIDIA vPC/vApps and NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstation. For a virtualized deployment, confirm current driver, operating-system, and licensing requirements with NVIDIA’s product information; listed support does not establish that a particular license is included.

Does the RTX 5880 have a China-specific market position?
Tom’s Hardware reported on January 5, 2024 that NVIDIA had launched the RTX 5880 Ada, described it as tailored for China under export rules then in effect, and placed it between the RTX 6000 Ada and RTX 5000 Ada. That is the publication’s dated account of the product’s launch context; NVIDIA’s product page does not itself state that geographic positioning. The 2024 report does not establish present-day availability, current export rules, or current sales restrictions.
How to assess it against other GPUs
The available figures are not a basis for declaring the RTX 5880 faster or slower than another GPU. NVIDIA’s CUDA GPU Compute Capability page provides architecture-level information, including newer GPUs, but it is not a like-for-like performance test. No controlled, comparable RTX 5880 benchmark is established here.

For a meaningful workstation comparison, match the cards against the software and tasks you actually use. Check:
- Measured performance in the same application and workload, using comparable test conditions.
- ECC memory capacity and whether the workload fits in available GPU memory.
- Application, driver, and operating-system support.
- Any vGPU features and licensing required for the intended deployment.
- Power, chassis clearance, cooling, and display-output needs.
- Total system cost, rather than GPU specifications alone.
Availability and buying claims
NVIDIA’s published specifications confirm the model, but they do not establish its current price, stock, seller legitimacy, or availability in a particular region. Check those details with a seller and verify the exact model before purchase; the January 2024 launch report is not evidence of present availability.
