NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang praised the Nintendo Switch 2’s custom processor as a major step for mobile graphics, citing ray tracing, HDR, AI processing and low power use. Those are Huang’s descriptions, not an independent performance ranking: Nintendo confirms the chip is custom-made by NVIDIA but does not publish a retail chip model, GPU core count, clock speed or benchmark score.
What Jensen Huang said about the Switch 2 processor
Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice page lists a special video dated June 3, 2025, featuring NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang discussing the console’s custom processor. HotHardware’s June 4 report reproduces his remarks:
“The chip inside Nintendo Switch 2 is unlike anything we’ve built before. It brings together three breakthroughs. The most advanced graphics ever in a mobile device. Full hardware ray tracing, high dynamic range for brighter highlights and deeper shadows. And an architecture that supports backward compatibility, dedicated AI processors to sharpen, animate, and enhance gameplay in real time; and it’s ultra low power.”
“The most advanced graphics ever in a mobile device” is Huang’s characterization, not a third-party comparison backed by published benchmark results. The quotation is transcribed in HotHardware’s report; consult Nintendo’s video for the original remarks.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What chip is in the Nintendo Switch 2?
Nintendo identifies the Switch 2 processor as a custom NVIDIA chip in its official technical specifications. Nintendo does not name a retail chip model or list GPU core counts, clock speeds or performance benchmarks there, so those details should not be inferred from Huang’s description.
What the official specifications say about graphics and display
Nintendo’s specifications, accessed in 2026, describe the console’s supported screen and output modes. These are system capabilities; they do not mean every game renders at the highest listed resolution or frame rate.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
| Use or feature | Nintendo-listed specification | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Handheld and tabletop | 7.9-inch LCD; 1920×1080 resolution; HDR10 and VRR up to 120 Hz | The built-in screen tops out at 1920×1080. |
| TV output | Up to 3840×2160 at 60 fps | 4K output is capped at 60 fps, and game and display support matter. |
| Lower-resolution high-frame-rate output | Support for 120 fps at 1920×1080 or 2560×1440 | These are supported output modes, not a guarantee that a particular game will run at 120 fps. |
Nintendo’s Switch 2 features page says 4K, HDR, VRR and high frame rates depend on supported games and compatible displays. It also records that TV-mode VRR support was added in a system update released September 10, 2026.
Does the praise establish how powerful Switch 2 is?
It establishes what NVIDIA’s CEO says the chip is designed to bring together, but it does not by itself show how Switch 2 performs against the original Switch, PlayStation, Xbox or gaming PCs. The official specifications give output capabilities, not comparative results. A useful performance comparison would need independent measurements in named games and comparable modes, including resolution, frame rate, image reconstruction, ray-tracing implementation and power or thermal conditions.
