No: Nothing does not plan to release a new flagship phone in 2026. CEO Carl Pei says the Nothing Phone (3), launched in July 2025, will remain the company’s flagship this year. The announced smartphone focus is the mid-range Phone (4a) series—not a Phone (4) flagship.

Is Nothing releasing a Phone (4) in 2026?

Nothing has said it will not release a Phone (4) flagship in 2026. In an interview with TechRadar, Pei confirmed there would be no new flagship phone this year. Tech Advisor quoted him describing the Phone (3) as “our flagship for 2026.”

These statements establish the company’s stated plan at the time of reporting; they cannot rule out a change or announcement later in the year.

What will Nothing release instead?

Phone (4a): a mid-range series

Nothing’s planned phone release is the Phone (4a) series. The company describes it as a broad upgrade across design, materials, display, camera and performance, positioning the line closer to a flagship experience while keeping it mid-range. Nothing has not established final pricing or global availability in the cited coverage, so those details should not be treated as confirmed.

More focus beyond smartphones

Nothing’s 2026 plans also include expanding its over-ear headphone range, continuing work on Nothing OS 4.0 and Essential apps, and growing physical retail. The roadmap discussion reported by Gadgets360 also cited the company’s scale: $1 billion in lifetime sales, $200 million raised and about 11,000 community investors.

Why is Nothing skipping a yearly flagship?

Pei’s explanation is that Nothing does not want to launch a flagship simply to follow an annual calendar. He said, “We want every upgrade to feel significant,” and that the company should release a flagship only “when we have something different to say.” In that approach, keeping the Phone (3) as the flagship is preferable to introducing a successor without a sufficiently meaningful change.

Nothing is also choosing where to invest attention. In a 2026 interview with The Indian Express, Pei contrasted about 17 million foldable-phone units with roughly 1 to 1.1 billion total smartphone shipments in the prior year. That comparison helps explain the company’s stated market perspective, but it does not amount to a promise about future product categories.
