The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. Nintendo describes it as a rebuilt version of the 1998 adventure, with redesigned visuals, orchestral music, voiced scenes, expanded dialogue, revised movement and camera controls, and new lore and rematch content. Nintendo has announced both digital and physical editions. The first physical print run includes textured foil cover art while supplies last, making that packaging a limited early-run feature rather than a permanent specification of every boxed copy.
What is new in the Switch 2 remake?
This is a substantial rebuild rather than a simple resolution upgrade. Nintendo’s announcements identify several changes that affect presentation, play and the amount of story material.

Can you really hum into the Switch 2 microphone to play the ocarina?
Yes. Button controls remain available, but the Switch 2’s built-in microphone can also accept a hummed melody or the sound of an instrument played near the console. Link then performs the corresponding song with his in-game ocarina.
