How to use a camera for GameChat video
Choose the official camera or test a USB camera you own
The Nintendo Switch 2 Camera is Nintendo’s named camera option for video chat. It connects by USB-C and has a privacy shutter. If you already own another USB camera, Nintendo says it may work but does not guarantee compatibility. Use the console’s Test USB Camera feature before relying on it; Nintendo does not publish a guaranteed list of compatible third-party models or comparative camera-quality results. Connect it according to its connector
Nintendo’s guide says a USB-C camera can connect directly to the console. A standard USB camera can connect through the dock. After connecting it, run Test USB Camera in system settings to check whether the console recognizes it. Nintendo’s GameChat Guide and FAQ
Will a headset microphone work?
Not if it uses Bluetooth. Nintendo says Bluetooth microphone input is not supported for GameChat, though Bluetooth audio can be used to listen to other participants. Since the console has a built-in microphone for speaking, you can use that instead of buying a separate mic. Nintendo Support: Bluetooth audio
