Nintendo Music is a mobile streaming app for Nintendo soundtracks. It is free to download on iOS and Android, but an active Nintendo Switch Online membership is required. The library covers nearly 40 years of Nintendo history and keeps expanding, so there is no permanent “final” total. This guide records the catalog available in the maintained 2026 index, explains the track counts, and shows how to search, download and customize playback.
Nintendo lists 31 October 2024 as the app’s release date. Its November 2024 announcement describes both streaming and in-app offline downloads, while the product page promises that more soundtracks will be added over time. Treat the catalog below as a dated reference rather than a closed box.
What Nintendo Music includes
Nintendo Music lets Switch Online members stream game music in the app or download it for offline listening. You can search by game, individual track or playlist; browse through series, characters, screenshots and Nintendo-curated mood playlists; create and share playlists; and receive recommendations based on your Nintendo Switch Play Activity.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minutePlayback has two Nintendo-specific features. Spoiler filtering can hide music that might reveal story developments, and eligible tracks can be extended to 15, 30 or 60 minutes with the Extend To… control. The app supports ordinary Bluetooth speakers and headphones.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The service is designed around albums and playlists rather than exporting files. A download is available inside Nintendo Music for offline playback, so it is useful on flights, commutes or places with unreliable reception, but it does not create a standard MP3 or other audio file in your phone’s music library.

Store availability and the catalog can differ as Nintendo expands the service. If your country is not in this list, check Nintendo’s current support information rather than assuming a sideloaded app or an overseas account will work.
How to install and use Nintendo Music
- Install the app. Download Nintendo Music from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Nintendo’s product listing gives 31 October 2024 as the release date.
- Sign in with your Nintendo Account. Use the account attached to an active Nintendo Switch Online individual or family membership.
- Find music. Use search for a game, track or playlist, or browse by series, character, screenshot and mood.
- Play or save music. Stream immediately, or choose individual tracks, playlists or an entire soundtrack for offline listening inside the app.
- Personalize playback. Turn on spoiler filtering when you want safer discovery, and use Extend To… on supported tracks to select 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
- Build and share playlists. Add tracks from different games, then share the playlist using the app’s sharing tools.
Recommendations can use your Nintendo Switch Play Activity. That means two members may see different suggestions even when they have access to the same catalog. If a recommendation seems unrelated to your taste, it may reflect games recently played on the linked Nintendo Account rather than listening history alone.
For a reliable offline session, download while connected to the internet, confirm the album or playlist appears in the app’s downloaded area, and test it before leaving coverage. Keep in mind that downloads remain app-managed and access is associated with the Nintendo Account and membership used to sign in.
Every soundtrack in the maintained 2026 catalog
The following snapshot follows Nintendo Life’s maintained all-game index. Nintendo updates the library over time, so a title or count can change after this guide’s 2026 snapshot. A number is the track total reported for that release; “not stated” means the index lists the title without a supplied count.

- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Counts are best used for comparing the size of releases, not as a promise about play length. A track can be a short menu cue, a jingle or a long-form piece, and the app’s extension feature can make an eligible recording last 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Platform labels also matter: the same series can appear in several generations, and a Switch 2 edition is not automatically the same listing as a Switch edition.

Special releases and cross-platform entries
The catalog also displays special releases that are not always presented as a conventional single-platform album. The maintained index shows:
- Star Fox (Switch 2)
- Splatoon Raiders
- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (Switch 2/1)
- Kirby Air Riders (Switch 2)
- Rhythm Heaven Groove (Switch 1)
- Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Switch 1)
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Switch 2)
These entries, like the standard platform catalog, can change as Nintendo adds releases. A game appearing in more than one platform section should not automatically be treated as duplicate audio; the index distinguishes platform editions where applicable.
How many songs are on Nintendo Music?
Nintendo does not publish one fixed lifetime total because new soundtracks are added over time. The useful way to measure the service is by release: the snapshot includes examples ranging from two tracks for NES Pinball to 576 for WarioWare: Move It!. Other large albums include Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 403, Mario Kart World with 348 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with 344. The per-platform tables above are therefore more reliable than a single aggregate number that would become stale whenever Nintendo updates the library.
The smallest counts are not necessarily incomplete albums. Older games often have compact soundtracks, and some entries are presented as individual releases or platform-specific editions. Conversely, a high count does not mean every item is a full-length song; it can include cues, themes and short gameplay pieces. Use the number to choose between a quick nostalgia listen and a much larger album to explore.
Membership, price and offline access
The app itself is free to download, but it is not a free-standing music service: an active Nintendo Switch Online membership is required. Nintendo Life’s maintained guide lists individual and family membership prices by region and links to retailer membership codes, but prices, stock, redemption rules and marketplace availability change. Check the Nintendo eShop or Nintendo’s current membership page for the country on your account before buying.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
There is no separate Nintendo Music subscription described in Nintendo’s product information. The qualifying Switch Online plan is the access requirement, so a person comparing costs should check whether they already pay for an individual or family membership. Retailer codes can have territory restrictions, and a code bought for one market may not redeem on an account registered elsewhere.
Offline downloads stay inside Nintendo Music rather than creating ordinary audio files in your phone’s music library. Download the tracks, playlists or full soundtracks you need while online, then open them from the app when you have no connection. Access remains tied to the Nintendo Account and membership that enabled the service.
Practical limitations to know
- The catalog is dynamic. Nintendo says more soundtracks from a wide range of series will be added over time, so a missing game may be added later.
- Track totals are release-specific. A soundtrack count can differ between a Switch, Switch 2 or older-platform edition, and some listed releases have no published count in the maintained index.
- Extension is not universal. The 15-, 30- and 60-minute options appear only on eligible tracks; if Extend To… is absent, that recording cannot be lengthened through the app.
- Smart-home controls are limited. The maintained guide’s last check found no direct Alexa, Google Home or HomePod interactivity. Bluetooth speakers and headphones work normally, but voice-assistant control should not be assumed.
- Recommendations are personal. Play Activity-based suggestions depend on the games recorded on your Nintendo Account and may not match another member’s home screen.
- Region matters. The app store listing, membership eligibility and available albums are tied to supported markets. Changing store regions is not a guaranteed way to obtain the service.
- Downloads are app-bound. You cannot move a downloaded album into another music player as a normal audio folder.
Which way should you browse?
- Choose a platform view when you want a historical tour from NES and Game Boy through Switch 2.
- Search by series or character when you want a franchise mix rather than one game’s complete album.
- Use screenshot browsing when you remember a scene but not the title.
- Use mood playlists for background listening without selecting individual games.
- Download a full soundtrack for a long trip, or save only selected tracks when phone storage is limited.
- Enable spoiler filtering before exploring an unfamiliar game, particularly story-heavy releases.
For a series deep dive, start with the newest platform entries, then search the same franchise name to find older releases. For a compact retro session, NES, Game Boy and Virtual Boy albums generally have fewer listed tracks than the modern Switch releases. For a long ambient playlist, try the larger albums such as WarioWare: Move It!, Animal Crossing: New Horizons or The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, then apply extensions where available.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Because Nintendo continues to add music, treat this catalog as a dated reference rather than a promise that no other soundtrack exists. The app itself is the final authority on what your account can play in your region.

How many songs are on Nintendo Music?
There is no permanent all-service total. Nintendo keeps adding releases. In the 2026 catalog snapshot, individual albums range from two tracks for NES Pinball to 576 for WarioWare: Move It!.
What games are on Nintendo Music?
The catalog spans Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, 3DS, Wii U, Wii, DS, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Virtual Boy, Super Nintendo, Game Boy and NES. The tables above list every title and every supplied track count in the maintained index, including special entries such as Splatoon Raiders and Rhythm Heaven Groove.
Can I search for one specific track?
Yes. Search accepts a game, an individual track or a playlist. You can also browse by series, character, screenshot or Nintendo-curated mood playlist.
Can every track be extended to an hour?
No. The Extend To… control is available only on eligible recordings. Where supported, it offers 15-, 30- or 60-minute playback; a missing control means that track cannot be extended in the app.
Does spoiler filtering remove story music permanently?
No. It is a discovery and playback filter that can hide music likely to reveal story developments. You can turn it on when exploring an unfamiliar game and turn it off when you want the complete listing.

The Bottom Line
Nintendo Music is a growing, membership-based soundtrack library rather than a fixed album collection. The 2026 snapshot covers generations from NES and Game Boy through Switch 2, with per-release counts ranging from two tracks to 576. Downloading, playlist sharing, spoiler filtering, screenshot browsing and 15-, 30- or 60-minute extensions make it flexible, but availability, counts and membership pricing can change. Verify your region and current Nintendo Switch Online status in the app and Nintendo’s latest support information.
