This week’s four security announcements target different problems: Vega II focuses on security operations, Genea MCP on physical-access workflows, BlackFog ADX Vision 2.0 on governing AI use, and Thales Sentinel Envelope Plus on protecting compiled software. Their announced capabilities are vendor descriptions, not interchangeable products or independently verified performance claims.
What are the new cybersecurity products this week?
The October 2, 2026 roundup from Help Net Security identifies four enterprise security products. They address separate operational layers, so the useful comparison is what job each is intended to do.

What does Vega II do?
Help Net Security describes Vega II as Vega’s largest platform release since it emerged from stealth. The roundup says the release brings security-trained frontier AI into the SOC, keeps team learning in a lasting record, and removes legacy SIEM and data-pipeline barriers that can limit access to information. Those are the available descriptions; deployment, integrations, performance, and availability details are not established here.
What does Genea MCP do?
Genea MCP is described by Help Net Security as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects AI agents directly to Genea Access Control. Intended examples include onboarding a new employee, arranging temporary contractor access, or unlocking a loading dock with a natural-language instruction. These examples communicate the intended interaction, not independently tested outcomes. Primary Genea documentation and commercial terms are not established here.

What does BlackFog ADX Vision 2.0 offer?
BlackFog says ADX Vision 2.0 applies policy to AI interactions at the point of input, independently of the model, and extends governance to agentic AI. Its listed features include seven layers of prompt protection, company or departmental policies, redirection to sanctioned licensed services, optional prompt auditing, and unified token visibility. BlackFog positions the wider ADX platform as endpoint software that blocks unauthorized outbound data movement in real time. These are vendor-stated capabilities; no independent test of ADX Vision 2.0 is established here.
What is Thales Sentinel Envelope Plus?
Thales announced Sentinel Envelope Plus on October 1, 2026, as an addition to its Sentinel Envelope software-protection solution. Thales says it applies multiple protection layers to selected security-sensitive portions of compiled applications without source-code changes or a special development environment. Developers can choose which parts receive stronger protection, balancing security and performance. The company says the product is available as a paid add-on to the Sentinel platform.

What did Thales report in its AI analysis test?
In a controlled test described in its October 1, 2026 announcement, Thales says an AI agent found 8 of 10 vulnerabilities in an unprotected application and none in the protected version. Thales reports that analyzing the protected version used 970 times the token consumption of the unprotected analysis, and that the protected-version analysis was halted after nearly seven hours. These are results reported by Thales for its test, not independent validation; they should not be generalized to other applications, agents, or conditions without the full methodology and independent replication.

Because the four products address distinct needs, evaluation should start with the relevant workflow rather than a general claim of “AI security.” For any product under consideration, ask the vendor for details that the available announcements do not establish:

- Which environments, integrations, and product versions are supported?
- How are identity, authorization, approvals, and audit records handled—especially when an AI agent can initiate an action?
- Where is the product deployed, what data does it process, and how is that data handled?
- What evaluation method supports performance or security claims, and can results be independently reproduced?
- What are the current availability, packaging, and pricing terms?
