Beginners cannot buy a confirmed retail starter deck for the new global NARUTO CARD GAME yet. Bandai has announced a starter-deck line, but as of 20 October 2026 it has not published final product names, card lists, prices or retailer links. The official release window is summer 2027.
If you have seen “Naruto Red” and “Sasuke Blue” at Gen Con 2026, treat them as tutorial identities, not retail products. The event guide says Bandai had not confirmed a starter-deck product and that the demo decks could change or remain event-exclusive. The sensible purchase decision is therefore to wait for an official Bandai product page rather than buy a listing that assumes those demos are the finished decks.
What is confirmed about the new Naruto Card Game?
Bandai’s official overview presents the NARUTO CARD GAME as a Leader-centred trading card game. A normal setup uses a deck of 51 cards, 5 Chakra cards and 1 Summon card. The objective is to reduce the opposing Leader’s Life to 0. That structure makes a sealed, ready-to-play starter deck the natural first purchase for someone who does not already own cards, but it does not make every Naruto-branded product sold online part of this new format.

Bandai has also announced Premier Demo Events planned from February 2027. Store locations, dates, registration instructions and any purchase arrangements are to be announced later. Those events may be the earliest reliable way for new players to learn the rules in person.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What has not been published
- Final retail starter-deck names and SKU numbers.
- Complete card lists, Leader identities and colour assignments for each retail deck.
- Deck prices, regional currencies and retailer availability.
- Whether the Gen Con demo decks become the same products sold at launch.
- Rules for rotating cards, regional legality or compatibility with products released after launch.
Without those details, ranking one announced deck as stronger, cheaper or easier would be speculation. A Naruto or Sasuke preference can guide your eventual choice, but it is not evidence of competitive performance.
Which starter deck should a beginner buy right now?
None of the new global starter decks is a confirmed purchase today. Do not pay a premium for a pre-order, marketplace listing or social-media image that calls itself the Naruto Card Game starter deck unless it links to a later Bandai product page with a verifiable SKU and regional seller information.
If you want to learn before launch
Watch Bandai’s official site for Premier Demo Event announcements beginning with the planned February 2027 programme. A supervised demo can teach the turn sequence and card types without committing you to an unconfirmed product. Check the participating store, event date and registration requirements when those details are posted; the launch announcement does not yet provide them.

The Gen Con 2026 demonstrations used the names Naruto Red and Sasuke Blue. They are useful indicators of the characters and colour themes Bandai may use to teach the game. Choose Naruto Red if you prefer Naruto’s cards and story, or Sasuke Blue if Sasuke is your favourite. That is a personal collecting and learning preference, not a statement that one deck wins more games.

If a seller offers an “early” starter deck
- Look for an official Bandai product page, not only a retailer title or an unverified photograph.
- Confirm that the listing identifies the new global NARUTO CARD GAME rather than an older Japanese Naruto product.
- Check the release date, language, region and refund terms.
- Do not infer the contents from demo cards, convention handouts or fan-made decklists.
Are Naruto Red and Sasuke Blue the real starter decks?
No confirmed retail status exists for either name as of 20 October 2026. The Gen Con 2026 guide identifies Naruto Red and Sasuke Blue as demo or tutorial decks and explicitly notes that Bandai had not confirmed a retail starter-deck product. The guide also allows for the demonstrations to be changed or kept event-exclusive.
That distinction matters because a tutorial deck can be built to teach a small rules sequence rather than to meet the final retail deck specification. Card counts, colour balance, Leaders, reprints and included accessories can all change before manufacturing. A convention handout is therefore evidence of how Bandai demonstrated the game, not a shopping specification.
How to recognize a later confirmation
A genuine confirmation should come from a Bandai-controlled product or launch announcement and should identify at least the retail name, product code or SKU, release region and contents. Once those fields appear, compare the published list with the demo identity. The retail deck might keep the Naruto or Sasuke theme, rename it, combine characters differently or omit the demo cards entirely.

How the game’s format affects a starter-deck decision
The setup gives beginners several practical questions to ask when the retail products are listed.

| Format detail | What to check in a product listing | Why it matters to a beginner |
|---|---|---|
| Leader-centred play | Leader identity, colour and any stated strategy | Your Leader establishes the deck’s identity, so it is the most important thematic and mechanical choice. |
| 51-card deck | Whether the box contains a complete 51-card deck and how duplicates are distributed | A complete deck should be playable without opening booster packs. |
| Five Chakra cards | Whether all five required Chakra cards are included and whether they are separate from the 51-card deck | Missing resource cards can make an apparently cheap product unusable on its own. |
| One Summon card | The included Summon and its language or regional legality | The Summon is part of the stated setup, not an optional decoration. |
| Life-to-zero win condition | Rules insert or teaching guide | A clear rules explanation lets a new player learn without buying another product. |
Do not assume that a product advertised as a “starter” contains exactly those components until Bandai publishes the contents. The official overview establishes the game setup, not the packaging of an unannounced SKU.
What to compare when the official decks are revealed
Use the same checklist for every regionally available Bandai listing. This prevents character preference from hiding a missing component, an incompatible language edition or a poor upgrade path.
1. Leader and colour
Record the Leader’s name, colour and any stated play pattern. A colour may affect which Characters, EX Characters, Chakra and Summons can be combined, while the Leader determines the deck’s central plan. Compare the printed rules text rather than assuming that “red” or “blue” has the same meaning as in another card game.
2. Complete contents and duplicates
Count the 51 deck cards, five Chakra cards and one Summon card separately. Note how many copies of important cards are supplied. A deck with a complete list and useful duplicates is a better first purchase than one that is technically playable but requires immediate booster openings to function.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
3. Immediate playability
Look for wording such as “ready to play,” a rules manual and a play sheet. Confirm whether two players need two decks or whether one box supports a head-to-head game. Do not treat a tutorial pack or demo handout as equivalent to a complete retail deck.
4. Teaching complexity
Read the product’s learning description once available. Beginners benefit from a deck whose cards reinforce the basic turn sequence and explain their effects clearly. A more complicated deck may be attractive to an experienced trading-card player but frustrating if it introduces several timing concepts at once.
5. Upgrade path
Check which booster sets are legal with the starter deck at launch and whether the product page identifies recommended expansion cards. An upgrade path is useful only if the cards are available in your region and use the same rules and language as the starter.

6. Regional legality and compatibility
Verify language, release region and tournament legality. A Japanese card from an older Naruto product is not automatically legal in the new global game, and a future global card may not be interchangeable with a convention demo card. Keep the product page and rule version with your purchase records.

7. Price and accessories
Compare the official recommended price, included accessories and shipping rather than judging by a marketplace headline. The physical format uses a substantial deck and a table area, so opaque sleeves, a deck box and a playmat are sensible optional additions after you have a confirmed deck. They do not make an unconfirmed deck legitimate.
Should you buy an older Japanese Naruto starter box?
Older Japanese products exist, but they are historical products rather than announced entries in the 2027 global line.
| Historical product | What Bandai’s older material says | How to treat it today |
|---|---|---|
| Naruto no Sho / Sasuke no Sho (2003) | Complete constructed decks with a rules manual and play sheet; listed age 6+. | A collectible or self-contained older game product. Do not assume its cards, rules or tournament legality carry over to the new global game. |
| Ninja Academy starting booster (2007) | Marketed with simplified rules, illustrated explanations and three sheets for immediate play. | An introductory product from a different release period and format, not a substitute for the 2027 starter line. |
Check the language, publication year and rule system before buying an older box. A sealed package can be attractive to a Naruto collector, but “starter” on the packaging only describes that historical product. It does not prove compatibility with the new NARUTO CARD GAME.

A safe buying plan for beginners
- Wait for the official listing. Use Bandai’s NARUTO CARD GAME site and launch announcements as the authority for names, contents and release timing.
- Save the product details. Record the SKU, region, language, release date and official contents for each deck you are considering.
- Confirm the complete setup. Make sure the box supplies a 51-card deck, five Chakra cards and one Summon card, or clearly explains any different packaging arrangement.
- Choose by learning fit. Prefer the Leader and play pattern you understand; use Naruto or Sasuke preference as a tie-breaker.
- Buy from a traceable seller. Keep an invoice and check that the seller’s edition matches your region.
- Learn before upgrading. Play the included deck several times before buying boosters. You will identify which effects and card types you actually need.
- Add accessories after verification. Sleeves, a deck box and a playmat protect a confirmed physical deck; they cannot resolve missing or incompatible cards.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Buying a demo as a retail product: Naruto Red and Sasuke Blue have not been confirmed as retail SKUs.
- Confusing an old Japanese box with the global launch: the 2003 and 2007 products predate the announced game.
- Assuming a character guarantees strength: no complete retail lists or comparative results have been published.
- Ignoring region and language: a card may be collectible but unsuitable for your local events or rules environment.
- Paying a speculative premium: prices and retailer availability for the new decks are not yet published.
- Opening boosters first: until a starter list exists, you cannot know which cards support the intended Leader.
When will beginners have a real choice?
The meaningful comparison begins when Bandai publishes final starter-deck pages with card lists, prices and release regions. At that point, compare the Leaders, colours, duplicate counts, teaching materials, upgrade options and legality using the checklist above. The planned summer 2027 global release gives you time to verify those details rather than relying on convention photographs or reseller speculation.
For now, the best beginner purchase is no new Naruto starter deck: attend an official demo when registration opens, learn the format, and buy the first fully documented Bandai SKU that matches your region and preferred Leader.
