Choose the Sony DualSense Edge if you want haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in supported PS5 games, plus the familiar first-party DualSense experience. The biggest difference is not a spec-sheet detail: Nacon says the Revolution 5 Pro has no vibration or haptics in PS5 games, while the Edge retains those DualSense features.
At a glance: which controller fits you?
| Choose | If your priority is | Important trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Nacon Revolution 5 Pro | Asymmetric sticks, Hall effect sticks and triggers, four rear shortcut buttons, or PS4 and PC compatibility. | No haptic feedback or vibration in PS5 games, and it cannot wake a PS5. |
| DualSense Edge | DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers in supported games, customizable controls, and stored profiles. | Its PC features have caveats; Sony says some functions require USB and the function buttons only switch stored profiles. |
Neither layout is inherently better for every hand or game. If you can, try the stick positions before buying; comfort is personal preference, not something the published specifications settle.
How much do haptics and adaptive triggers matter on PS5?
This is the clearest difference for PS5 play. The DualSense Edge retains haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in games that support them. Those effects can provide game-specific vibration and trigger resistance.
Nacon says the Revolution 5 Pro has neither haptic feedback nor vibration in PS5 games. It does not offer DualSense adaptive triggers, either. Nacon says vibration is available when playing on PS4 and PC, but that does not restore PS5 game effects. So if you want the controller to reproduce the supported DualSense experience, the Edge is the straightforward choice. Sony’s DualSense Edge feature details and Nacon’s support FAQ describe the distinction.

Sticks, triggers, and control feel
Nacon: Hall effect sensing and adjustable trigger travel
Nacon specifies magnetic Hall effect technology for the Revolution 5 Pro’s sticks and triggers, along with trigger travel adjustment. Hall effect sensing is a meaningful design distinction, but it is not a guarantee against every possible control issue. Nacon’s support page documents a Y-axis inversion issue associated with joystick drift that it says was resolved in a firmware update. It also warns that FPS Pro mode can cause slight drift if a stick does not center exactly. Check the current firmware and support guidance if you encounter a problem.
Edge: swappable stick modules
Sony identifies a replaceable stick module for the DualSense Edge. That offers a hardware replacement path for a worn module, separate from the controller’s control customization. Sony’s page does not make a comparable Hall effect claim for the Edge, so the two designs should not be treated as equivalent on sensing technology.

Customization and rear controls
The Revolution 5 Pro has four rear shortcut buttons. Nacon’s support information describes remapping those shortcuts and adjusting trigger travel in Classic mode; in Advanced mode, its app provides more than 60 setting variations. That number describes configuration variations, not a count of physical controls or guaranteed presets.
Sony describes the DualSense Edge as offering customizable controls and swappable profiles. The manufacturers’ feature descriptions establish different customization approaches, but do not establish which app or configuration flow is easier to use. On PC, Sony says the Edge’s function buttons only switch among profiles stored on the controller.

PS4, PC, and wireless compatibility
Where each controller works
| Platform or connection | Nacon Revolution 5 Pro | DualSense Edge |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 | Supported; wireless console play uses the included dedicated receiver. No PS5-game vibration or haptics. | Supported; haptics and adaptive triggers work in supported titles. |
| PS4 | Supported; Nacon says vibration is available in PS4 games. | Not stated on Sony’s reviewed DualSense Edge page. |
| PC | Supported for games that support XInput. | Connects by USB or Bluetooth. Sony notes that some features may require USB, and function buttons only switch stored profiles. |
| Mac | Unsupported, according to Nacon support. | Not stated on Sony’s reviewed page. |
For the Nacon, “wireless” does not mean connecting the controller to the console over Bluetooth. Nacon says the console connection uses the dedicated USB receiver; its Bluetooth connection is for audio peripherals. The receiver is not interchangeable with other dongles, and Nacon says only a Sony DualSense can wake a PS4 or PS5. If waking the console from the controller matters to you, account for that limitation.
Sony documents PC connection for the Edge by USB or Bluetooth. Its notes qualify the experience: haptic feedback and adaptive triggers may require USB, and the function buttons only switch stored profiles. Consult Sony’s current compatibility details for the supported PC behavior.

Battery, size, and what comes in the box
Nacon estimates 10 hours or more of play for the Revolution 5 Pro, depending on power settings. That is the manufacturer’s estimate, not an independent test. Sony’s reviewed Edge page does not provide a comparable battery figure, so there is no sound basis here for declaring a battery-life winner.
Nacon’s start guide lists a storage case, two D-pads, joystick rings, six weights, six joystick heads, an external microphone, a 3 m USB-C cable, and a USB dongle among the package contents. Contents can vary by region or product revision; confirm the specific seller’s listing rather than assuming every box contains the same accessories. The same guide lists the controller at approximately 308 g and 190 × 189 × 89 mm, manufacturer-published figures that do not establish how it compares in size or weight with the Edge. Replacement parts and longer-term ownership
Sony identifies a replaceable stick module for the DualSense Edge. Nacon says spare parts will be available through its portal, but its product FAQ uses “stay tuned” wording. That does not establish current stock or pricing, so check the relevant manufacturer channel before relying on a particular replacement part. Neither source establishes a current replacement price in the information cited here.

Nacon announced the Revolution 5 Pro launch month as October 2023 in its 2025 Universal Registration Document. That date does not change the core choice: decide first whether PS5 immersion or Nacon’s layout, sensing design, and broader PS4/PC support matters more to you.
