For a fully geared, high-investment roster in Mortal Kombat Mobile version 7.3.0, the leading choices include top-tier Diamonds such as Homelander, MK1 Sub-Zero and Darkest Knight Noob Saibot, and top-tier Golds such as Klassic Scorpion, Kombat Cup Johnny Cage and Klassic Smoke. Those are editorial rankings, not official game ratings. A well-fused Gold can be a better practical choice than a low-fusion Diamond, and team composition, equipment and mode modifiers can change who performs best.
This list uses Pocket Gamer’s September 2, 2026 rarity-by-rarity rankings as its broad roster reference, cross-checked against September 2026 rankings from MK Mobile Base and an August 2026 list from MK Souls. It covers the Diamond, Gold and Silver tiers ranked by Pocket Gamer; Pocket Gamer does not assign Bronze fighters tier placements. Warner Bros.’ official Google Play listing describes a roster of more than 150 fighters, so this is a tier-by-tier guide to the cards named in the referenced rankings, not a claim that every available card has a placement here.

How to use this tier list
Pocket Gamer says its placements reflect fighters at their best when fully geared. Read the tiers as a max-potential comparison, not as a beginner-account upgrade order. The lists are unofficial editorial judgments: MK Mobile Base explicitly says its ranking is not an official game ranking, and the sources use their own criteria rather than a shared, controlled win-rate test.
For practical choices, compare fighters at similar account investment. Consider their breadth across Towers, Krypt, Survivor, Realm Klash, Faction Wars and general progression, along with damage, control, power management, survivability, team support, fusion scaling and dependence on particular gear or teammates. A placement can shift with fusion, Ascension, equipment access, team rules and fight modifiers.

- S: strongest recommendations in the source’s stated ranking context.
- A: strong options that may be more team- or mode-dependent.
- B: useful in suitable rosters or situations, but generally less broadly recommended by that list.
- C: lower-priority options in that list, not proof that a card is unusable.
The cross-checks broadly support several standouts: Homelander, MK11 Frost, Darkest Knight Noob Saibot and multiple MK1 fighters among Diamonds; Klassic Scorpion, Kombat Cup Johnny Cage, Klassic Shang Tsung, Klassic Smoke and Covert Ops Cassie Cage among Golds. They do not produce one definitive universal order.
Diamond tier list
The following placements are Pocket Gamer’s version 7.3.0 rankings, updated September 2, 2026. Cards are grouped by tier rather than ordered within each tier.
| Tier | Diamond fighters |
|---|---|
| S | MK1 Sub-Zero; Homelander; MK1 Mileena; MK1 Kenshi; Spawn (Tormented Soul); Fujin; Geras (MK1); Scorpion (MK1); The Joker; Fujin (MK11); Sindel (MK11); Edenian Blood Sindel; Cassie Cage (Strike Force); Erron Black (Day of the Dead); Freddy Krueger (Nightmare); Goro (Klassic); Jade (Day of the Dead); Jade (MK11); Johnny Cage (Strike Force); Kabal (MK11); Kitana (Circle of Shadow); Kitana (Day of the Dead); Kung Lao (Circle of Shadow); Liu Kang (Circle of Shadow); Mileena (Ravenous); Nightwolf (MK11); Noob Saibot (MK11); Quan Chi (Circle of Shadow); Raiden (Klassic); Raiden (MK11); Raiden (Klassic Movie); Rain (MK11); Reptile (Klassic); Scorpion (Hellspawn); Scorpion (MK11); Scorpion (Strike Force); Skarlet (MK11); Sonya Blade (Kold War); Sub-Zero (Circle of Shadow); Sub-Zero (MK11); Darkest Knight Noob Saibot |

| C | D’Vorah (Wretch); Jax Briggs (Klassic); Kitana (Assassin); Takeda (Ronin) |
Pocket Gamer also highlights Reptile, Kitana and Jade (Day of the Dead) as all-around candidates, while cautioning that a Diamond can be especially powerful in a particular team or setup. That is useful context for interpreting a broad tier: a high placement does not mean the same fighter is optimal for every objective.

Gold tier list
Golds can be the stronger investment when they have substantially higher fusion or better fit a player’s available team. MK Souls specifically notes that a Fusion X Gold can outperform a low-fusion Diamond. The following is Pocket Gamer’s Gold list; it groups cards by tier and does not rank fighters within a tier.

There are repeated labels across the source’s Gold placements, including Edenian Blood Kitana and Kintaro (Shokan Warrior). They are reproduced as rendered in the source rather than silently reconciled into different cards.
Silver and Bronze fighters
Pocket Gamer treats Silver as situational rather than a priority over stronger rarities. Its list contains no S-tier Silver cards.

Warner Bros. Games’ official Update 7.3 notes, dated for the Summer Update arriving July 22, introduce MK II Movie Scorpion and MK1 Sub-Zero with mechanics that can affect team value. MK II Movie Scorpion is a Diamond Martial Artist/Netherrealm fighter. His Bunseki system increases Elemental damage taken and reduces enemy Special Attack damage; his counterattack gains effects as Bunseki stacks. His listed team effects include reduced Ice damage and tag-in Shield for MK II Movie teammates, and Fire damage-over-time immunity for Martial Artist and Netherrealm teammates while he remains alive.
MK1 Sub-Zero is a Diamond Martial Artist with a Bloodchill meter that leads to Blizzard mode. Blizzard increases power generation and damage and enables healing through vampiric Specials. The notes also list Freeze immunity, reduced Fire damage taken and Frostbite immunity for MK1 teammates. His full release is described as occurring during Season of Ice. These mechanics help explain why a fighter’s usefulness may depend on allies and team rules, not simply the tier label.

Update 7.3 also expands Ascension eligibility, including Elder God Kenshi, Edenian Blood Kitana, Onslaught Jax and Tigrar Fury Goro at Stage I. At Stage II max Ascension, eligible characters gain a fourth Equipment slot and Friendship access with the appropriate Equipment sets; the first listed group includes Hanzo Hasashi Scorpion, Klassic Shang Tsung and Klassic Sub-Zero. The update also adds Battle Modifiers to Klash Towers and changes floor rewards and progression. Such system changes can alter practical value even when a tier list’s broad placements remain unchanged.
Who should you invest in?
Use tier placement as one input, then make the choice against your account and target mode. The independent lists’ leading recommendations are a sensible shortlist to investigate, not a command to replace a developed team.
- If your Diamond has low fusion: compare it with your most developed Gold before spending resources. Fusion and equipment access can outweigh rarity in actual progression.
- If you need a general-purpose option: use the source’s all-around candidates—Reptile, Kitana and Jade (Day of the Dead)—as leads for comparison, while checking whether their team conditions match your roster.
- If you are targeting a mode: favor reliable repeatable damage, control, sustain and team utility for that mode over a nominally higher placement. Towers, Krypt, Survivor and Realm Klash can reward different strengths; modifiers may further change the matchup.
- If a card is gear- or team-dependent: account for whether you own the required equipment and allies before treating its maximum-potential placement as attainable.
The official Google Play listing describes Mortal Kombat Mobile as offering more than 150 fighters and modes including Faction Wars, challenges, Towers and Kombat Pass seasons. That breadth is why no single ranking can settle every roster decision.

Sources and date context
The broad rarity lists above follow Mihail Katsoris’s Pocket Gamer guide, updated September 2, 2026, for game version 7.3.0. The cross-checks are MK Mobile Base’s September 2026 version 7.3 methodology and MK Souls’ August 2026 multi-mode list. Fighter abilities and update-system details come from Warner Bros. Games’ official Update 7.3 notes; roster scale and game-mode context come from Warner Bros. International Enterprises’ Google Play listing, which shows an update date of July 17, 2026. Rankings can become stale after roster additions or balance changes, so treat them as a dated snapshot rather than permanent game rules.
