On the documented keyboard layout, open inventory with I, put the tool on an available belt slot, then select that slot with 1–6 or the mouse wheel. The shop is opened with U. If you use a controller, follow its on-screen prompts or the Controls screen; keyboard bindings should not be treated as controller instructions. The Field Manual reference describes the belt assignment, while the suit-gear catalog lists the documented slot counts.

- Open the inventory. Press I on the documented keyboard layout. Find the purchased tool in the inventory rather than judging from the currently selected quick slot.
- Check for an open belt slot. Assign the tool to an available slot. If the belt has no free slot, check whether another tool occupies the space you intended to use.

After purchasing goggles, press N on the documented keyboard layout to cycle the helmet through lamp, goggles, and off. If the goggles appear to have disappeared, cycle through the full sequence before treating them as missing: the off state can look like a failed purchase. The developer’s 1.0.4 notes also say Helmet Lamp upgrades moved to the Supply Wall. An older guide that sends you to a different location may describe an earlier arrangement.

The same patch notes added HUD indicators for the helmet lamp and goggles. Check the HUD state while cycling modes; it can help distinguish an inactive mode from an absent purchase. The notes list Night Vision Goggles at an in-game price of $350 in version 1.0.4. That is a game price from those notes, not evidence of the current price in every later version.
Forward Jetpack
The controls reference says to jump again while in the air to use the jetpack. Version 1.0.4 notes added a HUD indicator for jetpack boosts. Check the in-air control and indicator rather than expecting a jetpack icon to occupy a hand-held quick slot. The cited material does not establish a separate tool-slot procedure for the upgrade.
Gravity Boots
The controls reference assigns B to gravity boots on the documented keyboard layout, and the developer’s 1.0.4 notes added a HUD indicator for them. Could the Tool Belt upgrade itself be missing?
