- Choose a sustainable zone. Start in an area where your character can defeat several packs without repeated intervention. Do not pick a harder zone solely because it is a higher level.
- Set up the unattended loop. Confirm that the skills and automated potion use you rely on are available and working. Observe the character before leaving the game unattended so you can spot immediate failures.
- Keep the comparison consistent. When comparing classes or builds, use the same zone and similar-quality gear. Run long enough to include potion use and several packs rather than judging from a brief burst.
- Record useful outcomes. Note XP per hour, gold, deaths, and interruptions; time spent farming also helps interpret those results. A run that earns XP quickly but repeatedly stops may be less useful unattended than a steadier one.
- Change one variable at a time. If you adjust gear, skills, zone, or another part of the setup, avoid changing several at once. That makes it easier to tell what improved or worsened the run.

The game’s idle loop includes more than leaving a character fighting on the map. Why class recommendations can go stale
Build guidance depends on the game version. The independent class guide verified October 2, 2026, uses patch 1.0.0h as its baseline and reports changes to Monk’s Chain Force, Mirror Steps, and targeting for Piercing Lunge and Whirlwind Staff.
