Superior Court on March 19, 2024, on a fugitive-from-justice charge. U.S. Marshals had arrested her in Washington after a Michigan warrant was issued when she missed a March 8 hearing in a separate Michigan voting-machine prosecution. The D.C. case addressed the warrant and her return to Michigan—not whether the election-related allegations were true.
Why Lambert was arrested in Washington, D.C.
Lambert was in Washington on March 18, 2024, appearing as attorney for Patrick Byrne in a Dominion Voting Systems defamation case when U.S. Marshals arrested her. CyberScoop reported that the arrest followed a Michigan warrant issued after Lambert failed to appear for a March 8 hearing.
The D.C. charge was described as fugitive from justice. That proceeding concerned the outstanding Michigan warrant, the missed hearing and the process for returning Lambert to Michigan. It was not a trial or finding on the underlying voting-machine allegations.
What happened at the March 19 arraignment
- D.C. Superior Court arraigned Lambert on the fugitive-from-justice charge.
- The court set a $10,000 bond and scheduled an extradition hearing.
- Lambert’s lawyer said she believed a request to change the Michigan hearing date was being handled.
- Magistrate Judge Heide Herrmann warned: “As long as there is still a warrant out for your arrest, you can continue to be arrested over and over again, here in D.C., Michigan or somewhere else along the way.” CyberScoop reported the statement from the hearing.
The Associated Press reported on March 21, 2024, that Lambert was released after posting bond and went to Michigan to address the warrant. The bond and extradition arrangements describe that 2024 proceeding, not a current release condition.

How the Michigan cases differ
Reports refer to more than one Michigan prosecution. Treating them as a single case can produce an incorrect account of Lambert’s legal status.
Oakland County voting-machine prosecution
This is the case connected to the missed hearing and the Michigan warrant that led to the D.C. arrest. Michigan Advance reported in November 2025 that Lambert’s Oakland County trial was rescheduled for March 2, 2026. A May 27, 2026, Michigan Court of Appeals order denied a motion to expedite in Lambert’s case. The sources available for this article do not establish whether a trial began, was continued or ended after the March 2 date, so no final outcome should be inferred.

Hillsdale County voter-data case
The Hillsdale matter is separate from the Oakland County voting-machine prosecution. In December 2025, the Michigan Attorney General’s office announced that Lambert and former Adams Township Clerk Stephanie Scott had been bound over in the Hillsdale County case involving alleged 2020 election voter-data access. A judge dismissed the felony charges in that case in May 2026, according to Bridge Michigan.
The Hillsdale dismissal did not itself resolve the distinct Oakland County case.
What the arraignment does—and does not—establish
- Established: Lambert was arrested in D.C. on a Michigan warrant, arraigned on a fugitive-from-justice charge, given a $10,000 bond and later reported released after posting it.
- Not established by the D.C. hearing: whether Lambert committed any alleged voting-machine or voter-data offense.
- Not established by the available later reports: the final post-March 2026 disposition of the Oakland County case.
Criminal allegations in the Michigan proceedings should therefore be described as charges or allegations unless and until a court enters a different result.

The latest cited appellate development is the Michigan Court of Appeals’ May 27, 2026, order denying an expedited-motion request in Lambert’s case. Because the available material does not report what happened after the scheduled March 2, 2026, Oakland County trial date, readers seeking the present status should consult the current Michigan court docket or a subsequent court report. The 2024 D.C. bond amount is historical and should not be presented as a current condition.
