Meta acquired Limitless on December 5, 2025, bringing the startup’s AI-wearables team into Meta’s Reality Labs wearables organization. Limitless stopped selling its conversation-recording Pendant after the deal was announced; Meta has not announced a new pendant or said that it will continue the product.
What Meta acquired
Limitless, previously known as Rewind, began with desktop-recording software before shifting its focus to wearable AI. Its best-known device was the Limitless Pendant: a small recorder worn on a lanyard, necklace, or clip. It captured conversations and produced transcripts and summaries. TechCrunch reported a $99 price for the Pendant.
Limitless had raised more than $33 million from a16z, First Round Capital, and NEA, according to TechCrunch. Reuters reported that Meta and Limitless did not disclose the acquisition’s financial terms. No user-count, revenue, unit-sales, or valuation figure was reported in the cited coverage.
What happened to the Limitless Pendant and Rewind software
Limitless stopped selling its hardware following the acquisition announcement. TechCrunch reported that existing customers would receive one year of support, that subscription charges would be removed temporarily through an Unlimited Plan, and that users would be offered options to export or delete their data. The company’s non-Pendant Rewind software was also being wound down.

Those were transition arrangements reported when the deal was announced, not a promise that the Pendant would remain on sale or receive ongoing development. The announcement did not establish the service’s status after the stated support period.
How Limitless fits into Meta’s wearables strategy
Meta said the Limitless team would join its wearables organization within Reality Labs. A Meta spokesperson told TechCrunch, “We’re excited that Limitless will be joining Meta to help accelerate our work to build AI-enabled wearables.” Limitless co-founder and CEO Dan Siroker described the companies as sharing a vision for personal AI-enabled wearables in a statement reported by Reuters.

The deal adds wearable-AI talent and technology to Meta’s broader work, but that is not the same as a product announcement. Meta has not named a Limitless-derived device, announced a launch date, or described an integration roadmap. It would be speculation to say that a new Meta pendant is coming.

Meta Glasses are a useful comparison for understanding Meta’s active wearable products, but they are a separate product line—not evidence that the Limitless Pendant continues. Meta’s June 23, 2026 announcement says the glasses launched with EssilorLuxottica, start at $299, and are sold through Meta.com, Best Buy, Amazon, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, and other retailers.
