Use the current size chart for the exact garment, fit, and supplier you plan to sell. Label whether the figures describe the garment or the body, state the units, and show shoppers how to compare the chart with a similar item they already own. A size label alone is not a reliable comparison across different products or brands.
Start with the exact product’s size chart
A size chart belongs to a particular product. A T-shirt chart does not automatically apply to another T-shirt, a hoodie, or a different cut—even if the products use the same size labels. When you change the blank, supplier, or fit, check the new product’s current guide and update your shop listing.

For example, Printful’s chart for its cited hoodie says that particular product runs small and recommends ordering one size larger. That is product-specific supplier advice, not a rule for all hoodies or a reason to tell every shopper to size up. Check the Printful hoodie size guide for that item’s current details.
Tell shoppers what the measurements mean
Put the measurement basis immediately above the chart. A garment measurement describes the clothing itself; a body measurement describes the person the garment is intended to fit. These are not interchangeable. In particular, flat garment width is not the same as chest circumference: width measures across a garment laid flat, while circumference goes around a body or garment.

Printful’s seller guidance, How to measure a t-shirt for successful selling, published May 6, 2026, advises sellers to be clear whether a chart reflects flat clothing dimensions or “to fit” guidance. Use the product guide’s own labels and diagrams rather than silently translating one kind of measurement into another.
Show shoppers how to compare a T-shirt they own
A similar garment from the shopper’s wardrobe can make unfamiliar measurements easier to interpret. The comparison is a practical reference, not a guarantee of fit. Use an appropriate measuring tape if available; there is no need to buy one if the shopper already has a suitable tape.
Rank #2
- “Created By The Creator” delivers a meaningful, faith-inspired message that reflects purpose, identity, and divine craftsmanship. Perfect for those who value spirituality and uplifting expression.
- Elegant and inspiring, this design is ideal for everyday wear, church, or gatherings. A thoughtful choice for anyone who wants to share their beliefs with a simple yet powerful statement.
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
- Choose a similar garment. Compare like with like: a similar T-shirt is more useful than a hoodie or a very different cut.
- Lay it flat. Smooth the garment without stretching it.
- Measure length. For the cited Printful T-shirt, measure from the high-point shoulder beside the collar down to the bottom hem.
- Measure width. Measure straight across from the seam beneath one sleeve to the seam beneath the other. This is a flat width, not a circumference.
- Compare like measurements. Match the shopper’s garment measurement to the product chart’s garment measurement, using the same unit. If the supplier’s guide uses different measurement points for that garment, follow its diagram.
See the Printful T-shirt size guide for product 748 for the cited product’s measurement points and product-specific information.
Choose and label units consistently
Use one clear unit system throughout a chart and make the unit visible in the column headings or table caption. For a primarily US audience, inches may be familiar; for international shoppers, centimeters can be useful. Avoid mixing units within a column or leaving shoppers to infer whether a number is inches or centimeters.

- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
Printful documents metric and imperial choices for product size guides in its measurement-units help page. If you provide both units, check the conversions against the exact product guide and round consistently.
Keep fit notes and tolerances product-specific
Do not promise a universal fit, tolerance, or “true to size” result. Printful’s cited T-shirt and hoodie guides state that product measurements may vary by up to 2 inches (5 cm). That tolerance applies to those supplier guides; it should not be presented as an industry-wide guarantee or assigned to another supplier without evidence. Link or refer shoppers to the current guide for the product they are considering.

Check print scale separately from garment fit
A size chart answers questions about garment fit, not how large the artwork will appear. Printful says, “As a general rule, we don’t scale designs based on garment size,” while also describing product-specific exceptions, including downscaling for smaller sizes. Check the print-area guidance for each product if artwork size across garment sizes matters. See the Printful Help Center article on design scaling.
Publish a chart shoppers can trust
- Use the current chart for the exact product, fit, size range, and supplier.
- State whether the figures are garment dimensions or body measurements.
- Define ambiguous terms such as width or chest, and follow the product’s own measurement diagram.
- Label units clearly and keep the format consistent.
- Give shoppers a simple way to compare the chart with a similar item they own, without promising a perfect fit.
- Recheck the chart and print-area guidance if the blank or supplier changes.
A note on StreamNeo
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos; it does not help choose apparel sizes, so it is not a recommendation for this task.
