Marvel’s Wolverine has 32 suits: 27 available in the base game and five included with the Digital Deluxe Edition or upgrade. You unlock them through story missions, Material crafting, Whisky Bottle and Nightmare Door collections, campaign completion, and edition entitlements. Suits and claw designs are cosmetic, although collecting suits advances Logan’s permanent-health progression.

How the suit and claw system works

Marvel’s Wolverine launched worldwide on September 15, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5. It is a single-player, narrative action-adventure from Insomniac Games, Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Outfits do not change damage, defense, abilities or any other combat statistic. Every outfit has a signature claw appearance, and claw designs can normally be equipped with any outfit. Two designs are explicitly tied to their outfits: Fightin’ Souls Claws for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls and Animated Claws for Animated. The game therefore lets you separate most of Logan’s costume and claw looks without affecting gameplay.

Material Crates supply the currency used to craft many suits. The same crafting and collection system contributes to permanent health upgrades: GamingBolt’s post-launch guide reports that suit-collection thresholds raise Logan’s permanent health to 200% at 20 suits. The guide does not publish a separate Material price for most craftable outfits; where no amount is stated below, the requirement is simply to unlock the story gate and spend the Materials shown in your game.

The 32-suit count and mission-by-mission requirements below follow GamingBolt’s 2026 guide. PlayStation’s official guidance confirms the Material Crate, crafting, health-upgrade and Nightmare Door systems, while its Deluxe FAQ confirms the five Deluxe outfits and five Deluxe claw designs. A later patch could alter a granular requirement, so check the in-game objective if a mission name or reward differs from the guide.

All 27 base-game suits

The table lists the route, cowl availability, and the claw style associated with each base-game outfit. “Craft” means the story gate must be open and Materials must be spent; the exact amount is not stated in the published guide unless noted.

Story and crafting suits

Story rewards appear as you complete the named missions. For craftable entries, the mission only unlocks the blueprint or availability; you still need Materials from Material Crates. Explore mission areas rather than rushing objectives if you are short on currency. The game’s official PlayStation guidance identifies Material Crates as the source for suit-crafting Materials and the broader permanent-health upgrade track.

Classic Brown is the one base-game suit in the guide with a published craft price: 250 Materials after “Way Down Low” if you did not receive the preorder early unlock. The guide does not state prices for the other craftable suits, so the table intentionally does not infer them.

Midnight and the Whisky Bottles

Midnight requires all 20 Whisky Bottles. Bottles are a collectible objective rather than a story-gate or Material purchase. Once the collection is complete, the suit and its Scarlet Claws become available. The 20-bottle requirement is the figure reported by GamingBolt’s 2026 guide.

Future Fugitive and Hellverine

Both outfits use the three Nightmare Door Gauntlets: “The Last Stand At Cold Pines,” “Crucible Of Tears” and “Savage Showdown.” Future Fugitive requires the Gold rank in each, defined in the guide as 20,000 points. Hellverine requires Adamantium in each, defined as 40,000 points. Hellverine has no cowl and adds a motorcycle effect; neither reward changes combat statistics.

Death

Death is the completion reward. Finish the story campaign and allow the credits to roll; stopping before the end-of-campaign sequence can leave the reward unregistered until you complete that final requirement.

Digital Deluxe suits and claws

The Digital Deluxe Edition or Digital Deluxe Upgrade grants five additional outfits and their matching claw designs. PlayStation’s official FAQ also lists three Technique Points with the Deluxe entitlement. These are edition benefits, not rewards earned through missions or collectibles.

If you bought the standard edition, these five outfits do not have an in-game mission, collectible or Nightmare Door substitute listed in the published guide; the documented route is the Deluxe Edition or Upgrade entitlement.

Every separately listed Nightmare Door claw reward

Nightmare Door activities also award three claw designs independently of the Future Fugitive and Hellverine suits. These rewards use the Silver threshold in each named Gauntlet.

These three designs are why claw totals can look different between guides. Some lists count only the claw styles bundled with suits; others also count standalone Nightmare Door rewards. The safest completion checklist is to track the named designs above rather than rely on one grand claw number.

How to unlock suits efficiently

1. Follow the main story through the listed mission gates. Complete “Homecoming,” “The One That Got Away,” “Something Much Stronger,” “One Last Mission,” “Jet Lagged,” “Get Angry,” “In The Shadows,” “Way Down Low,” “Roll The Dice” and “I’m Still Here” as they become available. Story-only suits unlock automatically at their stated points; craftable suits appear in the suit menu after the gate.
2. Open Material Crates during exploration. Crates provide the Materials needed for craftable suits. If a newly unlocked outfit cannot be made, return to unexplored mission areas and collect more currency rather than treating the blueprint as missing.
3. Craft as soon as you can afford each blueprint. Crafting completes the unlock and also contributes to the suit-collection thresholds used for permanent health progression. Only Classic Brown has a published price in the guide: 250 Materials when obtained through the post-“Way Down Low” route.
4. Track the 20 Whisky Bottles. Completing the full set unlocks Midnight and Scarlet Claws. Keep a collectible checklist because the reward is tied to all 20, not a partial count.
5. Replay Nightmare Door Gauntlets for ranks. Earn at least Silver (8,000 points) in each named Gauntlet for Flat-Edged, Gold and Diamond Claws. Improve each score to Gold (20,000 points) in all three for Future Fugitive, and to Adamantium (40,000 points) in all three for Hellverine.
6. Finish the campaign completely. Let the credits roll after the final story sequence to register Death.
7. Verify your edition entitlement. The five Deluxe outfits and claws appear only for Digital Deluxe owners or players who purchase the Upgrade. Preorder players may have Classic Brown and Reflective Claws early; Yellow Variant had an early Disney+ perk where that promotion was available.

Route comparison: what each unlock type demands

Reading cowl and claw information correctly

The cowl column is an appearance note, not an equipment slot with a gameplay effect. “Available” means the suit supports its cowl presentation; “No cowl” identifies designs such as Team X Tactical Suit, Tank Top, Fang, Old Man Logan, Blue & Gold, Accursed, Hellverine and New Leather that are listed without one. Changing this visual option does not alter stealth, defense or detection.

The paired-claw column identifies the look associated with each outfit when you first unlock it. It does not mean the claws are permanently locked to that suit. Most styles can be selected independently, allowing combinations such as a story outfit with a Deluxe claw design. The two deliberate exceptions are Fightin’ Souls Claws and Animated Claws, which remain attached to their respective suits.

Material and health planning

Materials have two practical purposes in the collection loop: they pay for craftable suit blueprints and support the broader crafting track that contributes to permanent health. Because the published guide does not give a complete price list, the useful approach is to collect every Material Crate you encounter and spend only after the story gate appears. There is no documented reason to hold Materials for a hidden combat upgrade instead of a suit; the outfits themselves are cosmetic.

Suit collection, rather than wearing a particular costume, is what advances the health thresholds. The reported endpoint is 200% permanent health at 20 suits, so players focused on survivability can still use whichever visual combination they prefer. The remaining suits beyond 20 are completion goals and do not turn one costume into a stronger build.

Edition, preorder and promotion details

Buying the Digital Deluxe Upgrade is the documented way for a standard-edition owner to obtain Age Of Apocalypse, Incredible, New Leather, Savage and Night Hunt, along with Thick, Smooth-Edged, Tapered, Hollow Blade and Serrated Spine Claws. None of those five outfits is listed as a story, collectible or Nightmare Door reward.

Classic Brown has two routes: a preorder entitlement that grants early access, or the normal post-“Way Down Low” craft for 250 Materials. Yellow Variant similarly has an early Disney+ perk in regions where that promotion was offered, but the regular in-game route remains available after “Way Down Low.” Missing either promotion does not block the base-game collection.

Common unlock problems and fixes

A suit says “craft” but no price is shown

Make sure the relevant story mission has been completed, then check the suit menu while carrying Materials from Material Crates. Published guidance does not provide a universal Material price for every craftable outfit, so do not assume that one suit’s cost applies to another.

Classic Brown is missing

The preorder version is an early unlock, not a requirement for ownership. Without the preorder entitlement, reach “Way Down Low” and craft Classic Brown for 250 Materials.

Yellow Variant is unavailable

The early Disney+ perk was limited to places where that promotion was offered. The standard in-game route is to reach “Way Down Low” and craft Yellow Variant with Materials.

Midnight has not appeared

Confirm that all 20 Whisky Bottles have been collected. A partial collection does not satisfy the requirement.

Future Fugitive or Hellverine has not unlocked

Check every Nightmare Door Gauntlet separately. Future Fugitive needs Gold in all three; Hellverine needs Adamantium in all three. A high rank in two Gauntlets cannot substitute for the missing rank in the third.

A claw style cannot be equipped with another suit

Most styles are freely mixable, but Fightin’ Souls Claws and Animated Claws are locked to their respective outfits by design.

The collection count does not match another checklist

Use 32 as the suit total: 27 base-game outfits plus five Digital Deluxe outfits. Claw totals vary because some lists count only the styles bundled with suits, while others add Flat-Edged, Gold and Diamond Claws from Nightmare Doors. Tracking each named reward avoids duplicate counting.
