Yes. Malwarebytes Premium versions 5.5 and 5.6 earned AV-TEST’s Top Product award in its July/August 2026 Windows 11 consumer-security test, scoring 18 out of 18. That is a strong result in this specific lab test—not a guarantee for every device, operating system, or threat.
What Malwarebytes scored in AV-TEST’s latest cycle
AV-TEST awarded Malwarebytes Premium 5.5 and 5.6 a perfect 18/18 in its July/August 2026 test for Windows 11. The product report identifies the tested platform as Windows 11 Professional, English, 64-bit. It lists a score of 6 out of 6 in each of AV-TEST’s three categories: protection, performance, and usability. See AV-TEST’s Malwarebytes product report.
AV-TEST’s stated threshold for a Top Product award is 17.5 out of 18, so the 18-point result cleared it. The test covered 15 home-user security products during July and August 2026.
What the three category scores mean
Protection: 6/6
This category contributes up to six points to the total and concerns protection against the threats used in the test. A full score reports the product’s performance under AV-TEST’s test conditions; it does not mean the software can detect every possible threat.

Usability: 6/6
Usability contributes the final six points. AV-TEST’s category includes the product’s handling of legitimate software and websites, including false alarms. Malwarebytes received 6/6 in this cycle.

How AV-TEST conducted this test
AV-TEST says it evaluated products on default settings, using the latest publicly available versions during the July/August 2026 cycle. Products could update and query cloud services. The lab describes the evaluation as using realistic scenarios and real-world threats, with products tested using their components and protection layers.
Those conditions give the result a useful but bounded meaning: it reflects the tested Malwarebytes versions on Windows 11 Professional (English), 64-bit, in this particular home-user test. It does not establish how another Malwarebytes edition or platform would score, or how the product will perform against every threat outside the test.

How this compares with Malwarebytes’ previous AV-TEST result
In AV-TEST’s March/April 2026 Windows 11 report, Malwarebytes Premium 5.5 scored 17.5/18: 5.5/6 for protection, 6/6 for performance, and 6/6 for usability. That result met the same stated Top Product threshold. Read the March/April 2026 product report.
The two cycles show the scores Malwarebytes earned in those specific tests; they are not enough on their own to establish a general upward trend or an overall ranking against every competing product.

Other independent-test results cited by Malwarebytes
In an October 1, 2026 announcement, Malwarebytes also reported receiving Level 1 Certification in MRG Effitas’ July 2026 consumer assessment and said it stopped 100% of threats before they could run in AVLab’s May and July tests. The announcement attributes to the MRG Effitas assessment 300 live malware samples, zero false positives across 100 legitimate apps, and five live phishing sites blocked.
