Logicalis says 64% of respondents to its 2026 security benchmark lacked mature 24/7 security operations. That is a finding from a 357-response survey of IT and security professionals across EMEA and Asia Pacific—not an established estimate for organisations worldwide. The result points to a broader operational challenge: continuous response depends on clear accountability, useful visibility, incident readiness and access to expertise, not just monitoring around the clock.
What the 64% figure means
Logicalis published the finding on 1 October 2026 in its Closing the Security Maturity Gap benchmark. The survey received 357 responses from IT and security professionals across EMEA and Asia Pacific. The available summary does not establish that respondents represent all organisations, so the 64% should be read as a survey result, not a universal rate. Logicalis’s announcement does not state the survey field dates, recruitment method, weighting, or the precise scoring threshold used to classify operations as mature.
The benchmark says it assesses ownership, 24/7 response, visibility, detection, incident readiness and access to external expertise. Its report page also highlights security leadership and ownership, visibility and intelligence-led detection, automation and resilience. Those themes help explain the breadth of the assessment, but the public summary does not show the full rubric; it is not possible to reproduce the maturity classification from those themes alone. The report landing page provides the official framing.
Other security gaps reported in the benchmark
Logicalis reported several additional findings. Each is a separate survey measure; the figures should not be added together or treated as parts of the 64% result.

These are findings attributed to the 2026 Logicalis benchmark, not independently verified prevalence estimates. The summary does not provide enough methodological detail to determine how results vary by organisation size, industry or geography.
Why 24/7 maturity involves more than monitoring
A round-the-clock operation needs a workable chain from detection to action. The benchmark’s stated dimensions suggest practical questions for an organisation assessing its own readiness:
- Ownership: Is there a clearly accountable security lead, and are decision rights understood across security, IT and business teams?
- Continuous response: Can someone assess and act on a serious alert outside normal working hours, including weekends and holidays?
- Visibility and detection: Do responders have relevant, timely signals across the systems and services they need to protect?
- Incident readiness: Are escalation routes, responsibilities and response procedures established before an incident?
- Access to expertise: Can the organisation bring in the skills needed to investigate and respond when its internal team lacks capacity?
This is a practical way to interpret the report’s stated assessment areas, not a reproduction of Logicalis’s scoring model. Roger Loh, Head of Solutions, Digital Transformation at Logicalis Singapore, said the findings highlight the need to combine skilled people, intelligence, automation and continuous response as AI affects both attacks and defence. That is a vendor representative’s interpretation, not independent validation of the survey.

When managed SOC or MXDR support may be worth assessing
Logicalis reports that 87% of respondents see a positive or potentially positive role for Managed SOC and MXDR services. This records respondents’ views; it does not demonstrate that outsourcing improves outcomes or suits every organisation. External support may be worth evaluating when an organisation cannot provide coverage, specialist expertise or response capacity internally, provided responsibilities and oversight remain clear.

- What hours are actually covered, and who handles an alert at each stage?
- Which systems and data sources are visible to the service, and what is outside its scope?
- Can the provider escalate incidents and take action, or does it only notify your team?
- How does its process connect with your incident-response plans and internal decision-makers?
- How will your organisation retain oversight, access relevant incident information and learn from response activity?
Artur Martins, CISO at Logicalis Portugal, argued that coordinated people, processes and technology matter more than investment alone, and described trusted managed security services as an enabler for some organisations. How to use the finding in a readiness review
Use the 64% result as a reason to examine operational coverage, not as a benchmark your organisation must match or a diagnosis of your own maturity. Start by tracing what happens when a high-priority alert arrives outside business hours: who sees it, who decides its severity, who can contain the threat, and how the decision is recorded. Then identify gaps in visibility, escalation authority, incident preparation and expertise. The benchmark’s separate automation and ransomware findings are reminders to assess those capabilities as well as staffing and coverage.
