If your LiveReacting broadcast will not start on YouTube, first identify where it stops: can you open YouTube, is the right channel connected in LiveReacting, and does YouTube receive the stream? Then check channel eligibility, the selected LiveReacting workflow, any stream key, and the upload connection carrying the broadcast. The checks below apply in India as elsewhere; the cited guidance does not establish an India-wide YouTube block or an India-specific LiveReacting fault.
First, identify what “not starting” means
Before changing settings, record the exact error message and note which stage fails. A YouTube access problem, a LiveReacting connection or publishing error, and a stream that reaches YouTube but never goes live are different problems with different fixes.
- You cannot open YouTube or YouTube Studio: investigate device, network, administrator, or ISP access.
- YouTube opens, but LiveReacting cannot connect or publish: check the connected channel, selected workflow, authorization, and—if used—the encoder or stream key.
- YouTube receives data but the broadcast does not become live: inspect the selected event and stream status in YouTube Studio, then verify the encoder output and outbound connection.
Write down the channel, project, connection mode, time of the failure, and any error text. These details help distinguish an account issue from a network or integration issue when contacting support.
Check YouTube live-stream eligibility and limits
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days; its current setup guidance also says the streamer must be at least 16. Check the channel’s live-stream status and eligibility in YouTube Studio and consult YouTube’s Get started with live streaming guidance. If the channel has an active restriction, follow YouTube’s channel process to resolve it rather than trying to evade the restriction with another channel.

Confirm the LiveReacting route and destination
LiveReacting Studio supports distinct workflows, so confirm the selected route before applying stream-key advice. In the project’s stream settings, check that the intended YouTube channel is connected and that the project is configured for the intended destination.

- Direct channel connection: verify the connected account is the correct YouTube channel and that its authorization has not failed.
- Plugin mode: this route is for streaming software such as OBS, Wirecast, StreamYard, or Ecamm. The encoder or software sends the stream; troubleshoot its connection and key as well as the LiveReacting project.
- Existing scheduled event: select the event you actually intend to use. LiveReacting documents this option as connecting to an already scheduled YouTube live event. Make sure you have not selected or created a different event by mistake.
LiveReacting’s settings guide describes scheduling an event up to two weeks ahead and using the device’s time zone. These are interface-specific details that may change; verify the current labels and event details in your Studio before going live.
If you use an encoder or stream key
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Inspect the selected stream and confirm it matches the LiveReacting project or scheduled event you intend to use.
- Compare the keys. If the workflow uses a stream key, check that the encoder has the current key associated with the selected YouTube stream. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance recommends generating a new key and updating the encoder when a third-party encoder fails to start.
- Check the encoder itself. Confirm the software is current and its own preview shows the expected video and audio. A healthy local preview does not by itself prove YouTube is receiving a stable stream.
- Inspect YouTube’s status. Check whether the Live Control Room detects incoming data and whether the event is waiting for a stable signal or has gone live.
- Handle direct-login failures separately. If the integration logs in to YouTube directly and does not use a stream key, YouTube’s guidance directs users with failed third-party software login to that software’s support team.
See YouTube’s Troubleshoot live stream issues for its current encoder and stream-key guidance.

Test the outbound connection used for the broadcast
Measure upload capacity on the device and network that actually send the stream. A download-speed result does not establish that the outbound connection can sustain the broadcast. Compare available upload bandwidth with the stream’s total bitrate, including audio, and leave YouTube’s recommended 20% bandwidth margin. In other words, the stream bitrate should be no more than about 80% of the upload bandwidth reliably available to the broadcast.
YouTube notes that other users and traffic on a shared connection can reduce the bandwidth available to one person. Run the test while limiting competing uploads or other heavy network use, then retry from a stable connection. YouTube’s Streaming tips explain the bandwidth recommendation. If upload performance is unstable, contact your ISP; the evidence does not establish that a particular firewall port or security setting needs to be changed for this LiveReacting case.

If YouTube itself will not load
This check applies when youtube.com or YouTube Studio is inaccessible—not merely when a stream fails to publish. See whether other sites load on the same device and connection, then try another permitted network if one is available.
YouTube identifies connection problems, a Google Workspace administrator not enabling YouTube, and network-administrator or ISP blocking as possible access causes. On a managed office, school, or other organization network, ask its administrator to check access; on a home or mobile connection, ask the ISP if YouTube is being filtered. This guidance does not show that YouTube is generally blocked in India.

Use a private preview for a limited test
LiveReacting documents a private preview flow: connect the YouTube channel in Studio, set Privacy to Private, and start the preview so only you can see it. This can help check the basic video and connection flow without making the stream public. It is not a complete test of every feature: LiveReacting says interactive elements such as trivia or word search may require a public stream to test.
Common symptoms and next checks
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| YouTube or Studio does not load | Check the device’s connection, whether other sites load, and whether an administrator or ISP restricts YouTube. |
| LiveReacting reports a channel or login problem | Confirm the connected channel and workflow. For a direct third-party login failure without a key, contact LiveReacting support. |
| An encoder reports that it cannot start | Confirm the selected YouTube event, refresh the stream key if that workflow uses one, update the encoder, and check its preview. |
| YouTube does not show a stable incoming stream | Check encoder output and available upload bandwidth, preserving the recommended 20% headroom and accounting for shared traffic. |
| The wrong scheduled event is waiting or receiving data | Return to the LiveReacting project settings and select the intended existing YouTube event. |
| Video preview works but an interactive feature does not | Check whether that feature requires a public stream; a private preview may not validate it. |
Or let it run in the cloud
