If you want to stream a video file, the recurring camera prompt may mean the workflow has opened Larix’s camera-capture path. Granting camera permission may be relevant when your phone camera is the source, but it does not establish that Larix can play a prerecorded file. The exact reason the prompt repeats cannot be identified without your device, operating-system version, prompt wording, and the steps that trigger it.
First check what you are trying to stream
There are two different workflows:
- Live camera video: Your phone camera is the source. Larix is described as capturing and streaming live video from mobile cameras, so camera permission is relevant to this workflow.
- Prerecorded video: An existing file or playlist is the source. The reviewed Larix materials describe camera capture and MP4 recording, but do not document playing a local file or playlist as the live output.
If your source is a file, do not assume that approving the camera prompt will make that file stream. Check whether the encoder you selected explicitly supports file input or media playlists, and use a supported file-playback workflow.
Troubleshoot the repeated prompt
If your phone camera is meant to be live
- Confirm that the camera, rather than a saved video, is supposed to be the stream source.
- Open your phone’s app settings for Larix Broadcaster and check the camera permission status. Note whether the system shows it as allowed, denied, limited, or blocked.
- Try the camera workflow again and record the exact prompt text and the action that triggers it. Menu names and permission behavior vary by Android and iOS version, so there is no single reliable settings path without knowing your device and OS.
Larix’s reviewed materials do not identify a cause or universal fix for a prompt that keeps returning. Without the device model, OS version, permission state, and reproduction steps, attributing it to a particular bug or setting would be guesswork.
If a prerecorded file is meant to be live
- Check the encoder’s documentation for local file playback or playlist support; camera capture and recording a stream to MP4 are not the same as playing an existing file out as a live stream.
- Select a workflow that explicitly supports prerecorded-file input and YouTube streaming.
- In YouTube Studio, use the live server URL and stream key with the selected encoder.
- For a scheduled YouTube stream, start sending the encoder output, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, then click Go live. Scheduling the event alone does not start an encoder or play a file.
What Larix and YouTube document
YouTube lists Larix Broadcaster among mobile encoders and describes it as an app for capturing and streaming live video from mobile cameras. The current app listings likewise describe camera capture and live streaming; the Google Play listing also describes MP4 recording. Those capabilities do not, by themselves, establish local prerecorded-file playout.

YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a live server URL and stream key. For a scheduled event, the encoder must connect and send video before the operator clicks Go live in Live Control Room. YouTube also says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.
