How do I turn on Knicks game alerts on an iPhone?
Use both the NBA app’s notification menu and iOS’s permission screen. The labels can move between iOS releases, so look under either Settings > Apps > NBA > Notifications or Settings > Notifications > NBA.
- In the NBA app, sign in and follow the Knicks.
- Open Account > Notifications, switch on Allow Notifications, and select game-start, score and team-update categories that appear in your version.

The Google Play listing for the Official New York Knicks App, updated 19 October 2026, showed more than 100,000 downloads and a 4.2 rating from roughly 1.93K reviews (the store header showed 2.04K). Recent reviews have also described Android login, crashing and ticket-management problems. Treat it as an official team-news and push source, but keep the NBA app—or an independent alert app—as your primary start and score pipeline if the Knicks app misbehaves.

What if I only need a tip-off reminder?
Add the NBA schedule to your phone calendar instead of installing a sports-alert app. The NBA’s 19 October 2026 digital-season announcement says fans can add the schedule through nba.com/calendar; events include Tap to Watch links to the service carrying that game.
- Open nba.com/calendar in your phone browser.

Why am I getting duplicate Knicks alerts?

For a clean setup, choose one primary score source. Keep NBA for official team alerts, add Apple Sports for the Lock Screen, or use Sports Alerts when you need event-by-event control. In every other app, disable score and breaking-news categories while leaving only the notifications you actually want.

Leave game-start notifications enabled but disable live-score, breaking-news and final-score categories in each app. This is useful when you watch a recording or a delayed League Pass broadcast.
The NBA app has a Hide Scores slider at the top of its Games page; Sportico reported on 25 March 2026 that it hides scores and that recaps can display a “Spoilers Ahead” warning with blurred box scores. Apple Sports can hide scores in the app, widgets and Live Activity, with a Focus filter for that mode. ESPN also documents a video-settings option that turns off live scores in its games carousel.
Do not enable a global hide-score setting if your goal is live score alerts. Instead, keep only the start-time category active and check each app separately, because disabling scores in one source does not change another source’s settings.
Do I need League Pass to receive these alerts?
No. NBA, Knicks, Apple Sports, ESPN and Sports Alerts provide free score or start-alert functions; League Pass is the paid video route for out-of-market games, not a prerequisite for notifications. The 2026–27 roundup lists League Pass from $16.99 per month in the US, but that is a third-party compiled price and can change.

Watching is a separate decision. NBA App, NBA.com and team digital platforms provide Tap to Watch links, and the 2026–27 NBA release also lists links from Google OneBox, Sportscaster and TikTok posts mentioning #NBA.
