A 2025 cybersecurity conference at Islamabad’s Serena Hotel brought public- and private-sector decision-makers together to discuss risks to Pakistan’s digital systems, businesses and individuals. Coverage described experts warning about rising digital threats, but neither report supplied an attributable statistic measuring that increase.

What was the Islamabad cybersecurity conference?

The Cyber Security Conference 2025 was organized by EPL in collaboration with NADRA Technologies Limited and held at Serena Hotel in Islamabad, according to TechJuice and Pakistan Observer. Its stated theme was “Securing Pakistan’s Digital Future From Infrastructure to Individuals.”

Reports described an audience that included senior government officials, CEOs, CISOs, technologists, diplomats, law-enforcement leaders and policymakers. Pakistan Observer published its coverage on December 5, 2025; that publication date does not establish when the event itself took place. The TechJuice page shows only a relative publication age, so an exact conference date is not confirmed by these reports.

What risks and policy issues did attendees discuss?

The event coverage describes a broad agenda rather than a formal threat assessment or ranking of solutions. The reported discussions can be grouped by the kinds of systems and responsibilities they concern:

Risk domain Reported conference focus
Critical infrastructure Threats to essential digital infrastructure and national preparedness.
Corporate security Ransomware, phishing and supply-chain attacks, alongside the role of security leadership.
Incident response Response planning and a live incident-response walkthrough.
Emerging technologies Risks associated with artificial intelligence.
Privacy Data privacy and the protection of individuals.

These are topics reported as conference discussions, not independently verified findings that a particular attack occurred or that one risk is more prevalent than another. The reports also describe attention to policy gaps and national preparedness.

Who took part in the reported sessions?

TechJuice connected NIFT CEO Javed Edhi with a live incident-response walkthrough and EPL CEO Ghazanfar Ali Khan with a fireside chat on corporate leadership and digital risk. The report does not provide verbatim remarks from either speaker, so their views should not be inferred beyond those described session topics.

What does “rising digital threats” mean in this coverage?

The headline framing reflects warnings reported around the conference, but the reviewed articles do not provide an attributable number, comparison period or other measurement that quantifies how much attacks have risen. They establish that participants discussed cyber risks; they do not, on their own, establish a measured increase in attacks across Pakistan.

That distinction matters: a conference agenda can signal which risks decision-makers consider important, while a quantified trend requires dated, attributable data and a stated basis for comparison. No such figure is attached to the warnings in these event reports.
