Short answer: not officially confirmed yet. As of October 19, 2026, Steam lists the unreleased full game’s Steam Deck Compatibility as Unknown. The free demo, released October 7, 2026, is also marked Unknown. There is no official Verified, Playable, or Unsupported rating for either version.
You can try the demo on a Steam Deck, but its Windows system requirements do not prove that it will launch correctly, recognize controls, display readable text, maintain a particular frame rate, or provide acceptable battery life through SteamOS and Proton. Treat any result as a personal test rather than a compatibility guarantee.
Current Steam Deck status
The most reliable answer comes from Steam’s own compatibility panel, not from the game’s Windows requirements.

| Version | Availability | Steam Deck rating | What that means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full game | Planned for 2026; not launched as of October 19, 2026 | Unknown | Valve has not assigned Verified, Playable, or Unsupported status. |
| Free demo | Released October 7, 2026 | Unknown | The demo is downloadable, but its Deck behavior has not been officially classified. |
Steam’s full-game page explicitly says, “This game is not yet available on Steam.” SteamDB lists the application as coming soon with Windows support and records a metadata update on October 15, 2026. That update does not constitute a Deck test or a compatibility rating.

“Unknown” is a lack of certification, not a statement that the game fails. It means there is no official evidence yet for launchability, input, graphics behavior, text readability, or performance on Deck.
What is known about the game and demo
Full release
The planned release is a Windows PC title. Steam lists 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a Core i5-9400 processor, 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of video memory, and DirectX 11 as the minimum requirements. Because the full game has not launched, those specifications may change before release, and there is no release-build Deck result to evaluate.

Demo
The demo listing repeats the Windows requirements and states that it has full controller support. Steam also recommends playing with a controller, which is encouraging for a handheld, but controller support alone does not establish that every menu, prompt, or gameplay action works with the Deck’s controls.
The game’s premise involves an idol Demon King whose live performances send hordes of frenzied monsters toward a village. That description says nothing about graphics settings, interface scale, shader behavior, or battery demand, so those characteristics must not be inferred from the genre or presentation.

Why the Windows requirements cannot answer the Deck question
A Steam Deck is not a Windows gaming PC by default. It normally runs SteamOS, and Windows-only games are commonly run through Valve’s Proton compatibility layer. A Windows requirement therefore describes the developer’s supported PC configuration; it does not certify the translation layer, the game’s launcher, video codecs, anti-cheat components, or controller mappings on SteamOS.
| Published requirement or feature | What it tells you | What it does not tell you |
|---|---|---|
| Windows 10/11, 64-bit | The listed minimum operating system is Windows. | Whether the game starts under SteamOS and Proton. |
| Core i5-9400 | The developer’s minimum Windows CPU target. | Equivalent Deck performance, frame pacing, or power use. |
| 8 GB RAM | The stated minimum system memory for Windows. | How much memory the game and Proton will consume on Deck. |
| GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 4 GB | The stated minimum Windows graphics target. | Whether Deck’s integrated RDNA 2 graphics render the title correctly at a chosen resolution. |
| DirectX 11 | The graphics API named by the Windows listing. | Whether Proton’s DirectX-to-Vulkan translation is stable for this game. |
| Full controller support in the demo | The store page says a controller can be used. | Whether every Deck button, trackpad, virtual keyboard, and text-entry screen behaves properly. |
Even when a game launches, the official rating also considers practical issues such as default controller configuration, readable text, warnings, and whether a player must use a keyboard or unsupported launcher. None of those details has been published for Warota’s full game or demo.

How to test the demo on a Steam Deck
The demo is the only version available to try before the full release. Use it as a short compatibility check, not as proof that the final build will behave identically.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Open the Steam Store on the Deck. Search for the exact title, “Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL,” and open the official listing rather than a similarly named result.
- Open the demo listing. Confirm that the page identifies the October 7, 2026 demo and still shows Steam Deck Compatibility as Unknown. Store metadata can change, so record the date of your check.
- Install the demo. Select the demo’s install or play option and allow it to finish downloading. Keep the Deck connected to power if you are testing a long session.
- Launch without changing compatibility settings first. This gives you a baseline result using the current SteamOS configuration and the default compatibility tool selected by Steam.
- Check basic operation. Confirm that the game reaches its main menu, accepts the Deck’s buttons and sticks, and lets you start a new session without connecting a keyboard or mouse.
- Exercise the demanding parts of play. Move through a busy scene, trigger combat or the largest visible effects, open menus, and read dialogue or tutorial text. A title that merely reaches its menu has not passed a meaningful playability test.
- Test suspend and resume. Press the power button, resume after several minutes, and verify that the game has not frozen, lost input, or corrupted the current session.
- Record your conditions. Note the game build, SteamOS version, selected Proton version, display resolution, frame-rate cap, and whether you tested the demo or a later build. Those details are necessary for another player to reproduce your result.
What to evaluate during a personal test
Launch and stability
- Does the game open without a blank screen, crash, or infinite loading sequence?
- Can you reach gameplay repeatedly after closing and relaunching?
- Does returning from sleep preserve the session?
Controls and input
- Are movement, camera, confirmation, cancellation, and pause actions mapped to obvious Deck controls?
- Do menus recognize button presses without requiring a pointer?
- Does any text-entry or account screen require a physical keyboard?
Visual presentation
- Is dialogue and menu text readable at the Deck’s screen resolution?
- Do cut-scenes, effects, and transitions render correctly rather than showing missing textures or flicker?
- Can you choose a sensible resolution, quality preset, and frame-rate cap?
Performance and battery
Do not treat a single frame-rate counter reading as an official benchmark. Observe whether frame pacing remains consistent during the busiest scenes, whether input feels delayed, and how quickly the battery drains over a repeatable session. No published source currently provides a Warota-specific Deck frame-rate, battery-life, resolution, or Proton-stability statistic.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
If the demo does not work
An unsuccessful launch does not identify the cause by itself. Separate a game-specific failure from a local installation problem before changing settings.
- Restart the Deck and try again. This rules out a temporary Steam client or suspended-process problem.
- Verify the demo installation. In the game’s library entry, open its properties and use Steam’s installed-file verification option if available.
- Install pending SteamOS and game updates. A newer Proton or Steam client build can change compatibility, positively or negatively.
- Try another Proton version only as an experiment. In the game’s Properties, open the Compatibility section and force a different installed Proton tool. Record the original and replacement versions; there is no Warota-specific version recommendation at present.
- Reset custom controls. Return to the default controller layout to determine whether a community or personal mapping caused the input problem.
- Report reproducible failures. Include the demo build, SteamOS version, Proton version, error text, and the exact point of failure. A report that only says “doesn’t work” is difficult to act on.
Do not assume that lowering graphics settings will solve a launch failure. Settings changes can help rendering performance after the game starts, but they cannot fix every missing dependency or incompatible video component.
Should you try it now or wait?
| Your priority | Most sensible choice | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| You need a guaranteed handheld experience | Wait for an official rating or a documented Deck test of the release build. | The current Unknown status provides no guarantee. |
| You are comfortable troubleshooting | Install the free demo and perform the baseline checks above. | The demo provides the only direct evidence available before launch. |
| You are deciding whether to buy the full game solely for Deck use | Wait until the full game is released and its compatibility status is updated. | The unreleased build may differ from the demo, and Steam currently says the game is not available. |
| You mainly play docked with external controls | Still verify launch and graphics behavior first. | A dock or controller can change input convenience but does not solve Proton or rendering problems. |
What would establish compatibility later?
A meaningful future assessment should identify whether Steam assigns Verified, Playable, or Unsupported status to the full release. Independent testing should also state the exact game build, SteamOS version, Proton version, display resolution, frame-rate cap, and whether the test covered the demo or the final game.
The useful evidence is broader than “it boots.” A complete report would document controller and trackpad input, text and interface legibility, graphics options, frame-rate behavior in busy scenes, shader or Proton errors, suspend/resume reliability, and battery impact. Until those data exist, any claim that Warota is definitively smooth, stable, or battery-efficient on Deck goes beyond the available evidence.
Bottom line
Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL is not officially Steam Deck Verified or Playable as of October 19, 2026. Steam marks both the unreleased full game and its released demo as Unknown. The demo is reasonable to test if you accept experimentation, but the Windows requirements and controller-support statement cannot substitute for a Deck rating or performance test.
