Truckful is worth considering on Steam Deck if you want a focused, single-player delivery adventure and can accept an early launch-period game without a Valve compatibility badge. The developer reports smooth handheld performance, including a claimed 60 fps on high settings through most of the game, while patches have already addressed several controller, UI, stability and progression problems. However, those performance figures are developer-reported rather than independently benchmarked, and a Steam Deck Verified or Playable label was still absent in the October 13, 2026 check.
What Truckful is
Truckful is a single-player car-delivery adventure built around driving a pickup truck through winding countryside roads. You take errands from villagers, collect and transport fragile cargo, improve the truck, and investigate an old-forest mystery. The game combines route planning with physics-based vehicle movement: how you load a package and how you approach rough terrain can determine whether a delivery arrives intact.
The setting is divided into interconnected regions rather than a sequence of disconnected delivery screens. Exploration can lead to hidden paths, difficult terrain and scrap used for upgrades. The launch description also mentions supernatural threats, including the Ghost Truck, so the story is not limited to routine courier work. The result is closer to a compact driving-and-exploration adventure than to a pure logistics simulator or an open-ended multiplayer service.

Price, release date and platform availability
Truckful released on Steam on October 9, 2026. MythicOwl’s official launch page displayed a regular price of $19.99 and a 10% launch discount bringing it to $17.99 when checked on October 19, 2026. Both the discount and the store price can change, so treat those figures as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent price.
SteamDB metadata lists Windows, macOS and Linux versions, along with full controller support, Steam Cloud, achievements and family sharing. Those entries describe the Steam package; they are not the same thing as Valve’s separate Deck compatibility review. The game also launched on Google Play, but the purchase decision here concerns the Steam version and its use on a Deck.
Storage and account requirements
The cited Steam listing gives Truckful a 2 GB storage requirement. That is small enough for internal storage or an existing library card, and no special accessory, consumable, repair item or physical edition is required. You need a Steam account and a way to install updates, because launch fixes materially affect the experience.

The developer says it has tested Truckful on Steam Deck since 2024 and demonstrated the game on the device at PAX East and PAX West. Its Deck update reports a steady 60 frames per second on high settings through most of the game. The same guidance describes a broader handheld target of roughly 40–60 fps, with 30 fps associated with minimum desktop specifications.

Those numbers are developer-reported. No independent benchmark was published in the available material, so they should not be read as a measured result for every Deck model, operating-system revision or graphics setting. Terrain, cargo physics, effects and future patches can all affect frame pacing.

If you are comfortable tuning a new indie game, this evidence is encouraging. If you require a measured, repeatable benchmark or a formal compatibility badge before buying, the evidence is not yet conclusive.
Is Truckful Steam Deck Verified?
Not according to the October 13, 2026 check cited for this release. Valve’s compatibility list showed neither a Verified nor a Playable badge at that time. That status can change after Valve reviews the build or the developer ships more updates, so check the current Steam store entry immediately before purchasing.

How to make the badge matter to your decision
- Buy now: You are willing to rely on developer testing, update regularly and tolerate occasional launch-state roughness.
- Wait: You want Valve’s review result before spending money, especially if you do not want to troubleshoot.
- Verify at checkout: Open the current Steam product page on the device or desktop and look for the latest Deck compatibility notice; do not rely on an old screenshot or a third-party listing.
Controls and handheld fit
The Steam page lists full controller support and identifies the game as gamepad-preferred. That matches the way a Deck is normally used: steering, driving, cargo handling and menus can be performed from the built-in controls without requiring a keyboard and mouse.
Patch 1.0.1 added PlayStation controller support and mouse control for menus. Patch 1.0.2 added a keyboard-remapping file, which is useful if you need to adjust bindings beyond the default gamepad layout. The controller work is especially relevant for anyone using an external gamepad or a custom Steam Input layout.
A practical first-launch setup
- Install the current game build rather than launching an unpatched download.
- Start with the default gamepad layout and confirm steering, acceleration, braking, interaction and menu navigation.
- If a button is not recognized, open the game’s Steam controller layout and try the official layout before creating a custom one.
- Use the in-game quality options if you experience uneven frame pacing; the developer specifically describes quality settings for weaker devices.
- Test a short delivery before beginning a long exploration run, so you can identify input or performance problems without risking substantial progress.
Launch bugs, fixes and recovery options
Truckful launched with an active patch cycle. That is positive for support, but it also means the state described in early coverage can become outdated quickly.
Patch 1.0.1
The first launch patch addressed double-input behavior, added PlayStation controller support and menu mouse control, fixed dialogue flicker, corrected a Turkish translation problem and improved UI performance. The developer also acknowledged a softlock issue. If you played an early build, update before assuming an input or menu problem is still present.

Patch 1.0.2
The next patch added an emergency escape route in the Hotel Hub, removed a Continue option that appeared after completion, improved localization and added a keyboard-remapping file. It also introduced a recovery teleport or cheat-menu route for players who become stuck. That recovery option is important because it gives you a way to leave a bad position instead of abandoning a save immediately.
Patch 1.0.3
A dated technical guide records improved Steam Deck and SteamOS stability and a fix for a freeze that could occur when closing the game during packing. The same guide notes historical or remaining concerns involving ultrawide HUD alignment and navigation clarity. These reports are patch-sensitive: check the newest notes and test your own build rather than assuming every early issue remains.
What to do if you hit a problem
- Pause and record where the problem occurred, including the region, activity and whether cargo was being packed.
- Exit to the Steam client and allow pending updates to finish.
- Relaunch and check whether the issue was a one-time input or loading fault.
- If your character or vehicle is stuck, use the Hotel Hub escape route or the recovery teleport/cheat-menu path provided by the relevant patch.
- If the game freezes while closing during packing, update first; that specific freeze was listed as fixed in the 1.0.3 guidance.
- For persistent problems, preserve the save and report the exact sequence rather than repeatedly overwriting it.
The recovery tools make launch bugs less dangerous, but they do not turn an early build into a fully settled one. Players who strongly dislike troubleshooting should wait for more patches.

This makes Truckful a good fit for players who want a defined adventure with a beginning, progression and story mystery. It is a less obvious fit for someone seeking competitive leaderboards, cooperative hauling or an endlessly refreshed service game; the available platform information does not establish those modes.

At the October 19, 2026 price snapshot, the $17.99 launch-discount price lowered the risk compared with the regular $19.99 price, but the discount is temporary.
Buy now if that combination of focused single-player driving, cargo management and ongoing patch support sounds appealing. Wait if certification, bug-free stability or independently measured performance is more important than playing the game immediately.
