Stellar Blade is worth considering on PC if you want demanding, timing-based melee combat, boss fights, and a New Game Plus run with extra progression and cosmetics. The case is less persuasive if your priorities are a consistently strong story or level design: one PC review praised the combat but criticized both. Check the current PC requirements against your hardware before buying.
What is included in the PC version?
Stellar Blade is a single-player, third-person action-adventure listed on Steam. The store lists June 11, 2025 as its PC release date; Shift Up’s second-quarter 2025 results presentation records the launch as June 12, so the sources differ by a day. Steam’s listing and Shift Up’s investor materials provide those respective dates.
PlayStation advertises unlocked frame rates, ultrawide and super-ultrawide display support, and PC-specific graphics features. Its PC page lists a GTX 1060 6 GB or Radeon RX 580 at the baseline graphics tier. Requirements and feature availability can change with updates, so consult the current official PC page for the complete, up-to-date requirements before purchasing—especially if your system is near that baseline.
Steam describes fast-paced melee combat and lists weapons including blades, machine guns, and laser blasters. Its content notice also flags violence and revealing costumes. DualSense controller support is optional: Steam says its vibration can enrich combat sensations, but it is not a requirement or a demonstrated performance advantage.

How is the combat?
Combat is the strongest reason to consider the game. In her PC review, PC Gamer’s Mollie Taylor describes enemies with varied attack patterns that players can answer with dodges or parries. Successful defensive timing opens opportunities to counterattack, making the loop about reading an enemy, getting the timing right, and responding with your own attacks. Taylor’s review found the result exciting, while noting that it takes time to adjust and that Eve has fewer tools early on.
That learning curve is part of the appeal for players who enjoy mastering action systems, but it may frustrate anyone who dislikes timing-sensitive defense. The game offers adjustable difficulty and an optional on-screen timing aid, according to the review. Steam uses a “souls-like” tag, but Taylor describes a mix of Soulslike and stylish-action influences; it is more useful to think of it as a blend than as a pure Soulslike.

Is the exploration and story good?
The official description places EVE in the ruins of a post-apocalyptic Earth, where she fights the Naytiba and uncovers the past. That supports expecting atmospheric science-fiction environments and exploration, not a fully open-world game. Steam’s description sets out that premise.
Level design is a more mixed part of the experience. Taylor criticized some areas, particularly in the opening hours. She also identified story and worldbuilding as the game’s weakest elements, saying the lead characters did not develop enough rapport for her. Those are one reviewer’s judgments, not a measure of every player’s response, but they matter if narrative depth or consistently compelling areas are your main reasons to buy.

Does Stellar Blade have New Game Plus?
Yes. New Game Plus continues the journey after the credits with expanded progression, additional skills, and cosmetics. In a PlayStation Blog announcement dated April 25, 2024, Shift Up director Kim Hyung Tae said the mode would arrive at launch on April 26. The article lists 34 new Eve outfits, as well as extra accessories and cosmetics for Adam, Lily, and the Drone. The announcement also specifies expanded weapon, body, beta, and tumbler levels; four new Beta skill moves; eight Beta/Burst skill enhancements; and five Drone skills.
That gives players who want a second run concrete progression and cosmetic rewards to pursue. It does not establish a particular amount of playtime, which can vary with how someone plays. PC Gamer’s review page identifies the reviewed PC build as Steam Deck Verified; that portability designation is separate from the amount of replay content.
