Samsung Care+ may be worth it if an unexpected Galaxy repair or replacement bill would strain your budget, but it is not an automatic money-saver. Compare the full premium for your exact device and term with the charge you would pay for a covered claim—and check whether the plan covers the event you are worried about. Samsung’s U.S. prices depend on the device, and the coverage and fees differ between Care+ and Care+ with Theft and Loss.
What Samsung Care+ covers
This guide covers Samsung’s U.S. mobile-device plans. Samsung’s home-appliance and electronics service contracts are separate products with different terms.
Samsung describes mobile Care+ as covering accidental damage from handling and mechanical breakdown. Care+ with Theft and Loss adds coverage for lost or stolen devices. Samsung’s FAQ also describes Care+ Essentials as mechanical-breakdown coverage and a New York-only insurance option for lost and stolen devices. These names and benefits are not interchangeable, so check the specific plan offered for your phone and state. Samsung Care+ support and its Care+ FAQ set out the current U.S. terms.
Accidental damage and mechanical breakdown
Samsung advertises unlimited accidental-damage repairs for Care+ and Care+ with Theft and Loss, subject to plan terms. It also advertises unlimited mechanical-failure claims. Mechanical-breakdown coverage generally begins after the manufacturer warranty expires; for other covered events, coverage generally starts immediately after purchase. The FAQ says there is no service fee for mechanical-breakdown claims, while accidental-damage fees vary by claim.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Samsung says eligible battery repairs are available when diagnostics confirm battery capacity at 79% or less. This is a stated eligibility threshold, not a guarantee that every battery concern qualifies.
Theft and loss
The Theft and Loss option adds protection for lost, stolen, or unrecoverable devices. Samsung limits these claims to three during any consecutive 12-month period. An approved replacement may be new or refurbished; if the exact make and model is unavailable, Samsung may provide a comparable model.

Repairs and service access
Samsung says repairs use Samsung Genuine Parts and are performed by Samsung Certified Technicians. It advertises same-day screen repairs at more than 700 authorized locations, but that service depends on the device, claim approval, parts, technician availability, and location. Same-day service is an eligible possibility, not a promise for every repair.
What Samsung Care+ costs
Samsung does not publish one universal mobile-plan price: the premium depends on the device’s manufacturer suggested retail price, and the FAQ likewise says cost varies by device. Get the current quote for your exact model rather than relying on a price for another Galaxy phone.

Samsung’s FAQ describes paying upfront for two years or choosing automatic monthly billing for three years, with cancellation governed by the applicable terms. Your total cost depends on the offer and how long you keep coverage. Calculate the premiums over your intended ownership period, not just the first monthly payment.
Current repair fees and deductibles

| Plan or claim | Samsung-stated charge | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Care+: eligible cracked-screen or back-glass repair | $29 per repair | For eligible repairs under Samsung Care+; plan terms apply. |
| Care+ with Theft and Loss: eligible cracked-screen or back-glass repair | $0 per repair | For eligible repairs under this plan; plan terms apply. |
| Theft and Loss: eligible lost or stolen claim | $99–$199 deductible | Varies by device, according to Samsung. |
| Mechanical-breakdown claim | No service fee | Samsung’s FAQ states no service fee; coverage terms apply. |
The screen-repair amount is a service fee for a specified repair; the theft/loss amount is a deductible for a different kind of claim. Other accidental-damage fees vary by claim, and exact charges depend on plan, device, claim type, and current terms. Samsung’s page also identifies a 79% battery-capacity threshold for its advertised battery-repair benefit and more than 700 authorized locations for the advertised same-day screen-repair service; neither figure guarantees eligibility or local availability.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to decide whether Care+ is worth it
There is no universal break-even answer in Samsung’s published terms. The pages provide neither a device-specific out-of-plan repair comparison nor the likelihood that a particular owner will make a claim. Use your own repair-risk tolerance and current quote to assess value; do not assume the plan will save money.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Identify the risk you want covered. For drops or mechanical breakdown, check the standard Care+ terms. If loss or theft is the main concern, compare an option that explicitly includes it; standard Care+ is not the same coverage.
- Price the full term. Multiply the quoted monthly payment by the months you expect to keep coverage, or use the upfront price for the offered term. Check cancellation terms if you might stop early.
- Add the claim charge that fits the risk. Include the applicable accidental-damage service fee or theft/loss deductible in your estimate. Do not substitute one for the other.
- Compare against what you would pay without coverage. Consider whether you could comfortably absorb an unexpected repair or replacement cost. Samsung’s cited pages do not establish that Care+ costs less than paying out of pocket for a particular model.
- Account for service convenience and limits. Authorized repair access or a replacement process may matter to you, but same-day service has conditions. Theft/loss claims have a three-claim limit in any consecutive 12 months, and the replacement may be refurbished or comparable rather than the exact new model.
Care+ is more compelling when a large unexpected bill would be difficult to manage and the plan’s covered events match your risks. It is less compelling if you can self-insure comfortably, seldom damage devices, or mainly want theft/loss protection but are considering a plan that excludes it.
Enrollment, claims, and device returns
Check eligibility before buying
Samsung’s FAQ says eligible mobile devices may be enrolled at purchase or within 60 days. Its current support page separately advertises an eligible pricing path between 61 and 365 days, marked unavailable in New York. These are different contexts, not proof that every device or plan can be added throughout a full year. Verify the live offer for your device, state, and enrollment date.
Understand the claim process
Samsung identifies Servify as the contact for mobile-device claims. Follow the instructions and return rules for your plan. Samsung says claimed devices generally must be returned after a replacement; if the old device is not returned on time, an unrecovered-equipment fee may apply. Its FAQ says approved replacements are typically shipped for next-business-day delivery in most cases, subject to terms.
Care+ or a protective case?
A case can help with everyday drops, but it is not equivalent to Care+: it does not cover theft, loss, or mechanical breakdown. If you choose a case, select one made for your exact Galaxy model. A case and Care+ address different risks, so whether to use either or both depends on what you want to protect against.
