Allow time to learn its older conventions rather than judging the entire trilogy by the opening hours. Do not buy it for multiplayer
The official descriptions emphasize single-player content. Legendary Edition is therefore the wrong purchase if your main objective is Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. It is built around the trilogy’s solo campaigns, their downloadable story and equipment content, and the transfer of choices between games.
How long the trilogy takes
Electronic Arts’ launch description gives the collection “over 100 hours of gameplay.” Treat that as an overall scale rather than a promise that every player will spend exactly the same amount of time. A completion-focused run, optional exploration and replaying decisions can extend the commitment, while a direct story-focused run can take less.
Plan for a multi-game project rather than a short trial. You may want to finish one campaign before beginning the next, or take breaks between games so the length does not become tiring. The useful question is not whether the package contains enough hours—it clearly does—but whether you want a long, connected story in which your decisions accumulate.

A simple value calculation
- Check the current Legendary Edition price in your region and on your platform.
- Check the current EA Play price and confirm that Legendary Edition is included for that platform.
- Estimate how many months you realistically need for more than 100 hours of content.
- Add the cost of any membership periods required to finish or replay the trilogy.
