The sources available for this pregame update do not confirm whether he was ultimately active. “GTD” is fantasy shorthand for uncertainty—not confirmation that Clay would play.
What is Kenyon Clay’s Week 5 status?
RotoWire reported on September 30 that Clay was questionable for the game, citing the Sun Belt availability report. He had missed Arkansas State’s September 26 game against Kennesaw State with an ankle injury. The questionable designation did not establish that he would be cleared or play.
What did Arkansas State’s coach say?
At a September 29 press conference, head coach Butch Jones said Clay would practice that day and the staff would assess how much he could do: “Yeah, he’s (Clay) going to practice today. He’s done a really remarkable job of really willing himself to get back. So he’s going to practice today and we’ll see a little bit more of what we have.” That was a plan to practice and evaluate him, not confirmation that he completed practice or was cleared for the game. KAIT’s September 29 report carries the comments.
When and where is Arkansas State’s game?
Arkansas State is scheduled to play at Louisiana in Lafayette on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with kickoff at 7:00 p.m. CT. The school’s schedule announcement lists ESPN+ as the broadcast. The game is the Red Wolves’ Sun Belt opener; they entered it 2-2 after opening the season with a 42-24 loss at Memphis, a 52-7 win over West Georgia, a 31-7 loss at TCU, and a 17-14 win over Kennesaw State. Arkansas State’s game announcement has the kickoff and viewing information.

What does Clay’s role mean for fantasy managers?
Clay had appeared in three of Arkansas State’s first four games. The team’s 2026 cumulative statistics list 27 carries for 104 yards and two rushing touchdowns, plus four receptions for 89 yards and one receiving touchdown. Those figures describe his production through those appearances, not a projection for Week 5. Arkansas State’s 2026 statistics provide the season totals.
RotoWire reported that Solomon Baggett started when Clay missed the Kennesaw State game and had 13 carries for 63 yards. The available reporting does not establish how Arkansas State would divide carries if Clay were limited or inactive. Treat the questionable tag as a reason to check for an updated game-day report, not as a promise of Clay’s normal workload.
