Possibly, but there is no confirmed Indian launch. Tipster Yogesh Brar said on October 2, 2026, that the iQOO 16 was being tested in India. That is a reported tip, not an announcement from iQOO; the company had not announced an Indian launch, date, or price in the reporting reviewed.
What the India-testing report actually says
Brar’s post, reproduced by My Mobile India, said: “iQOO 16 is being tested in India. But if it launches close to Rs 1 lakh, I don’t think it will be easy to sell. (same pricing problem for OnePlus also) What’s the maximum price you would pay for it?” The Tech Outlook also attributed the testing claim to Brar.
This is evidence of what the tipster reported, not independent confirmation that testing is underway. iQOO had not publicly confirmed the claim or an India launch in the reports dated October 2, 2026. The Tech Outlook said it had not seen the model number in India’s BIS certification database at that time; that absence alone does not prove whether a launch will happen.
Is an Indian launch on the cards?
An India launch is possible, but its status is unresolved. Brar had reportedly suggested in July that rising component costs might mean the phone would skip India. His later testing claim represents a change in reported speculation—not a confirmed change in iQOO’s plans. Neither tip settles the company’s decision.

The phone is already an official China-market product: vivo’s China newsroom says the iQOO 16 was released on September 29, 2026. That release does not establish availability in India or mean the China model will be sold here.
What the roughly ₹1 lakh figure means
Brar raised a hypothetical concern about the phone launching near ₹1 lakh and questioned whether it would sell easily at that price. It is his opinion about a possible Indian price—not an announced price, a verified market statistic, or a confirmed India configuration.

What is known about the China model
iQOO’s official China specification page lists a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with 3168×1440 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, an 8,400mAh typical-capacity battery, 100W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and three 50MP rear cameras. These specifications describe the China model; the specifications of any India variant have not been established.
