Mist Blue is our favorite standard iPhone 17 color. It adds personality without being as attention-grabbing as Lavender, and it should work with a wide range of clear, blue, gray and neutral cases.

Lavender is the better pick if you want the phone itself to stand out. Sage is more restrained and unusual, making it a good middle ground between a conventional neutral and a brighter color. Our favorite iPhone 17 Pro finish: Deep Blue
Deep Blue is our favorite Pro finish. It is dark and relatively subtle, but has more character than a conventional black or near-black phone. It is the best option for buyers who want a professional-looking iPhone without choosing the safest neutral.
Cosmic Orange is the boldest choice in the lineup and the easiest to identify at a glance. Silver is the classic alternative: neutral, familiar and less likely to clash with a case or accessory.

Some reports, leaks and unofficial renders described a black iPhone 17 Pro. Those descriptions do not match the final retail options listed by Apple.
Colors that are easy to confuse with the iPhone 17
Several colors associated with other 2025 iPhone models do not belong to the standard iPhone 17 or Pro lineup:
- Soft Pink: This is a color for the separate iPhone 17e, not the iPhone 17.
- Sky Blue: This belongs to the iPhone Air, not the standard iPhone 17.
- Cosmic Orange: This is exclusive to the Pro lineup among the models covered here; the standard iPhone 17 does not come in orange.
