Which iPhone 15 model is right for you?
Choose iPhone 15 for the smaller standard model
The iPhone 15 suits buyers who want a 6.1-inch phone with the A16 Bionic chip, a 48MP Main and Ultra Wide camera pair, and USB-C without the Pro camera and display features. Its listed storage choices are 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
Choose iPhone 15 Plus for a bigger screen and longer standard-model rating
The 15 Plus keeps the standard-model chip and dual-camera system but moves to a 6.7-inch display. Apple’s video-playback rating is up to 26 hours, compared with up to 20 hours for iPhone 15. It is the better fit if you want the larger size and longer rated playback without stepping up to the Pro camera tier.

Choose iPhone 15 Pro for Pro features in the smaller size
The 6.1-inch 15 Pro pairs the A17 Pro chip with ProMotion, Always-On display, a telephoto camera and USB 3 transfer capability. It makes sense if you want a smaller phone but expect to use the smoother display, extra camera tools or faster wired file transfers.
Choose iPhone 15 Pro Max for the largest Pro display and longest rating
The 15 Pro Max combines a 6.7-inch screen with Pro camera features and Apple’s highest listed video-playback rating of the four: up to 29 hours. The comparison lists Pro-range storage options up to 1TB. Choose it if those capabilities and the largest size matter more than carrying a smaller phone.

What changes between standard and Pro models?
Display and size
All four have Super Retina XDR OLED displays. The iPhone 15 and 15 Pro are 6.1 inches; the 15 Plus and 15 Pro Max are 6.7 inches. ProMotion and Always-On display are listed for the Pro models, making them the choices for buyers who prioritize those display features.
Camera capabilities
The 15 and 15 Plus have a dual-camera system with a 48MP Main and an Ultra Wide camera. The Pro and Pro Max add telephoto, macro photography, Apple ProRAW, ProRes and LiDAR Scanner features. Apple’s comparison lists Dolby Vision video recording up to 4K at 60 fps for all four models, so the Pro distinction is not simply whether a phone can record that format and resolution; it is the added camera and capture features.

Chip and graphics
The standard models use A16 Bionic; the Pro models use A17 Pro. Apple lists hardware-accelerated ray tracing for A17 Pro. That is a concrete Pro-tier difference, but the comparison does not establish how much faster a particular app or game will run in everyday use.
Battery ratings
Apple’s stated video-playback ratings are 20 hours for iPhone 15, 26 for 15 Plus, 23 for 15 Pro and 29 for 15 Pro Max. These are playback ratings published by Apple, not a promise of the same duration for mixed daily use; actual endurance depends on how a phone is used.

USB-C, storage and charging details
USB-C transfer speeds
Every model uses USB-C, but the standard models are listed with USB 2, while the Pro and Pro Max support USB 3 up to 10Gb/s. If you often transfer large video files by cable, USB 3 is a practical reason to consider a Pro. The faster interface is useful only when the cable and connected equipment also support the relevant transfer standard.
Storage selection
Apple lists 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities for iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. The comparison lists higher-tier choices for the Pro range, including 1TB. Check the exact model and capacity available in your market before checkout.

MagSafe charging and accessories
Apple’s comparison lists MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W with a 20W-or-higher adapter for all four models. For accessories, match the case to the exact model and size. A USB 3-capable cable is the relevant choice for a Pro owner who wants to take advantage of its faster wired transfers; a MagSafe charger paired with a 20W-or-higher USB-C adapter matches Apple’s documented charging setup.
