What Inteliscope was
The Inteliscope Tactical Rifle Adapter attached a compatible Apple phone or iPod to a Picatinny (Mil-STD-1913) or Weaver rail. The phone’s camera captured the view, and the app placed a reticle and other information on the screen. It was therefore a mount-and-app system, not a phone transformed into a conventional optical riflescope.
The original product description advertised portrait or landscape positioning, adjustable placement, quick-release mounting, reinforced polymer construction and the ability to view around obstacles. What the app advertised
The version 2.3 entry in a third-party app catalog listed an “Intuitive Heads up Display,” 5× digital zoom, selectable reticles, ballistic drop compensation, video recording and playback, compass and GPS positioning, local prevailing-wind information, a shot timer, flashlight and strobe. A 2013 release notice also described a sight-in method that shifted the background video while keeping the reticle centered. This is historical compatibility information from that listing; it does not establish that Inteliscope works with newer iPhones, modern iOS releases or an app currently available through Apple’s App Store. Later reporting and a retailer listing describe an Inteliscope Pro intended for a wider range of smartphones. That does not guarantee that a particular current phone fits, that its app can be installed, or that the product is in stock. Confirm the exact phone dimensions, operating-system and app support, mount interface, included parts, seller and availability before relying on any listing. What one review observed about the mount
In a 2014 review, Paul Helinski of GunsAmerica Digest described the phone holder as a screw-adjustable squeezing mechanism with rubber feet, rather than a clip. He reported that the phone could move unless the holder was tightened firmly, and that he needed time to understand the app’s sight-in control. Price and availability: historical figures, not a current quote
Historical launch figures differ: Engadget’s reproduction of a May 2013 announcement gave a $69.99 pre-order price, while The Tactical Wire’s 2013 release notice described the adapter at $99. Neither amount is a current price. A Sentry retailer page indexed within the last several months listed Inteliscope Pro at €180 including VAT, with shipping extra; that listing does not confirm current stock, official authorization or phone fit.
