The evidence points to a USB4 entry for mobile Nova Lake-H, a separate USB 3.2 entry for a desktop chipset, and a PCIe 5.0 test entry for a processor whose identity has not been confirmed as Nova Lake.
What the reported USB4 and USB 3.2 listings cover
Tom’s Hardware reported on September 29, 2026, that the USB-IF Integrators List included mobile Nova Lake-H processor device IDs D331 and D333 as compliant with USB4 at 80 Gbps. This is the reported mobile-platform entry; it should not be generalized to every Nova Lake processor or finished computer. Tom’s Hardware’s report attributes the device-ID details to the listing.
The same report identifies a separate desktop entry: Nova Lake PCH-S chipset device ID 6E6E was listed as compliant with USB 3.2 Gen 2 at up to 20 Gbps. That is a chipset entry for USB 3.2, not a desktop USB4 certification. The reported 80 Gbps and 20 Gbps figures refer to different standards and components; they are not comparable real-world throughput measurements.
| Reported component | Device ID(s) | Standard and listed rate |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile Nova Lake-H processor | D331, D333 | USB4, 80 Gbps |
| Desktop Nova Lake PCH-S chipset | 6E6E | USB 3.2 Gen 2, up to 20 Gbps |
What PCI-SIG’s reported listings establish
900-series chipset entries
Tom’s Hardware says Intel 900-series chipset device IDs associated with Core Ultra 400-series Nova Lake-S have appeared on PCI-SIG’s Integrators List since April 2026. This is evidence about chipset entries, not a confirmation of every desktop processor or system configuration.
#1 Best Overall
- Intel certified Thunderbolt 5 add-on card
- Dual USB Type-C ports support up to 130 watts total of fast charging, and up to 96W for one device
- Up to five Thunderbolt devices can be daisy-chained
- Up to 120 Gbps of bandwidth for superfast data transfers and video output
- DisplayPort 2.1 port supports up to three 8K 60 Hz displays with DSC
PCIe 5.0 x16 processor entry
The report also describes an Intel processor with device IDs D461, D465 and D467–D46A passing interoperability testing with a PCIe 5.0 x16 root complex in early August 2026. Its identity as a Nova Lake desktop CPU is explicitly uncertain. The result therefore should not be presented as confirmed PCIe certification for a named Nova Lake retail processor.
The PCIe listing is distinct from the USB entries: a PCIe 5.0 x16 root-complex interoperability result does not describe USB ports, and the listed USB rates do not indicate PCIe performance.

What a standards listing means—and what it does not
USB-IF explains that products passing its compliance program are considered certified, are added to its Integrators List and gain the right to license USB-IF logos. Its process can also permit Qualification by Similarity for sufficiently similar products rather than requiring each one to repeat testing; significant differences may require testing, with the compliance review board deciding. See USB-IF’s Compliance page.
Accordingly, a listing is meaningful standards-program evidence for the identified entry, but it does not by itself announce a finished consumer product, establish which final model names will ship or show that every CPU, motherboard and PC using the platform has passed the same process. Nor should a USB4 entry be called Thunderbolt 5 certification: Allion Labs’ April 2026 update gives separate Thunderbolt certification requirements and test paths for Nova Lake desktop and mobile variants. Allion Labs’ 2026 specification update describes those distinct paths.

When is Intel Nova Lake expected to launch?
Tom’s Hardware says the latest leaks point to a Q1 2027 launch for Core Ultra 400-series desktop and mobile products. That is leak-based timing, not a launch date confirmed by Intel. The standards listings do not independently establish a release schedule or consumer availability.
