None of the listed names or specifications is confirmed by Intel, and reports disagree on the flagship’s core count.
What the Nova Lake desktop CPU leak claims
Wccftech attributes the seven-model list to LC Tech Leaks and dates it to October 1, 2026. The configurations, cache figures, power ratings, and graphics details below are leak claims, not Intel-confirmed specifications.
| Reported model | Reported core mix and count | Reported power, cache, and graphics |
|---|---|---|
| Core Ultra 9 4970K BFC | 8 P-cores + 16 E-cores + 4 LPE-cores; 28 cores claimed by Wccftech | 125 W PL1; BFC-tagged, up to 144 MB bLLC; 32 EUs |
| Core Ultra 9 4950K | 8 P-cores + 16 E-cores + 4 LPE-cores; 28 cores in Wccftech’s table | 125 W PL1; no BFC or bLLC listed; 32 EUs |
| Core Ultra 9 4900 BFC | 6 P-cores + 12 E-cores + 4 LPE-cores; 22 cores | 65 W PL1; BFC-tagged, up to 144 MB bLLC; 32 EUs |
| Core Ultra 7 4870K BFC | 8 P-cores + 12 E-cores + 4 LPE-cores; 24 cores | 125 W PL1; BFC-tagged, up to 144 MB bLLC; 32 EUs |
| Core Ultra 7 4850K | 8 P-cores + 12 E-cores + 4 LPE-cores; 24 cores | 125 W PL1; no BFC or bLLC listed; 32 EUs |
| Core Ultra 5 4650KF | 6 P-cores + 12 E-cores + 4 LPE-cores; 22 cores | 125 W PL1; integrated graphics not listed |
| Core Ultra 5 4650K | 6 P-cores + 12 E-cores + 4 LPE-cores; 22 cores | 125 W PL1; no BFC or bLLC listed; 32 EUs |
PL1 is the processor’s reported base-power limit; it does not, by itself, describe maximum turbo power or real-world consumption. The table reflects only the attributes reported for these purported models, not a performance ranking.
The 4970K BFC core-count reports conflict
Wccftech describes the Core Ultra 9 4970K BFC as a 28-core CPU, matching its listed 8+16+4 core configuration. Tom’s Hardware’s prose also calls it 28-core, but its table gives “24 (8 + 16 + 4),” a total that does not add up. The leak reports therefore support describing 28 cores as the claim, while the discrepancy remains unresolved.

What BFC, bLLC, and the graphics figures mean here
BFC and the reported cache
Three models in the list carry the BFC suffix: the 4970K BFC, 4900 BFC, and 4870K BFC. Wccftech associates those variants with up to 144 MB of bLLC. Tom’s Hardware says BFC seems to be Intel’s branding for bLLC, but neither that expansion nor the branding is confirmed by Intel. The non-BFC models have no bLLC listed in the leak; that omission is not proof of their final cache configuration.
Integrated graphics
Tom’s Hardware reports 32 EUs for most models and says the Core Ultra 5 4650KF lacks integrated graphics. It speculates that 32 EUs may correspond to four Xe cores, but that interpretation is not an official Nova Lake graphics specification. The leak does not list graphics for the KF model.

How the leak compares with a documented Intel desktop CPU
Intel’s 2024 Series 2 product brief specifies the Core Ultra 9 285K at 24 processor cores, 36 MB Intel Smart Cache, 125 W processor base power, and 250 W maximum turbo power. Those are official reference specifications, not benchmark results, and they do not verify any Nova Lake claim.
The comparison is useful only as a documented point of reference: the leak’s purported 4970K BFC would have a different reported core mix and much larger cache figure, but no independently measured Nova Lake results establish what those differences would mean for performance, gaming, or efficiency.

What is and is not established
Tom’s Hardware reports Nova Lake-associated components in USB-IF and PCI-SIG compliance or interoperability listings. It cautions that it cannot say with certainty that an unidentified PCIe processor entry belongs to a desktop Nova Lake CPU. This reporting may indicate platform development, but it does not validate the seven SKU names, their specifications, motherboard compatibility, or availability.
No Intel statement confirming the listed models or specifications is established in the cited reports. The available official Intel document is for Series 2, not Nova Lake. The reports do not establish Nova Lake prices, a release date, retail availability, independently measured benchmarks, or compatibility details.
