Bharat1.AI’s blueprint has two stages: B1 AI SuperPark, an AI research and infrastructure campus in Sarjapur that Moneycontrol reported was partly operational in October 2026, and a proposed 70-acre AI city near Agara Lake, which the company expects to open by 2029. The city is a plan, not an operating development; its projected scale, funding and infrastructure remain company-reported targets.
What is Bharat1.AI’s AI city?
The proposed city is intended as a real-world test environment for physical and agentic AI: systems that act in the physical world or carry out tasks through software agents. Bharat1.AI says the environment would bring people, their digital twins and robots together so researchers can develop and test systems in more dynamic conditions than text or static datasets can provide.
Rahul Kulshresth, the company’s Head of Strategic Partnerships and Collaborations, described the ambition to Moneycontrol as “a city-scale simulator for AI training, inferencing and building use cases” where “humans will co-exist with robots” to create physical-AI applications. Gadgets 360 likewise framed the proposal as a place to stress-test agents and physical AI in real-world scenarios. It is a research and validation concept—not a plan to hand control of Bengaluru to AI.

The distinction matters: the SuperPark is the first, partly operational phase, while the larger city’s delivery and scale depend on plans that have not been demonstrated as completed outcomes.

What is B1 AI SuperPark?
Location and facilities
Bharat1.AI lists the campus address as B1 AI SuperPark, RGA Tech Park, Block No. 4, Sarjapura, Bengaluru. The company’s website describes it as a place for AI startups, researchers, enterprises, investors and partners. Its advertised facilities include AI compute and high-speed cloud connectivity, alongside labs, sandbox environments, demo spaces and co-innovation zones.
Moneycontrol reported that the campus provides startup infrastructure, research facilities, GPU access and cloud leasing, which it described as Bharat1.AI’s initial revenue model. These are services and facilities for AI teams rather than consumer products.

Partners and startup target
Moneycontrol reported about 15 foundational partners, including NVIDIA, Neysa, Lightstorm, The Airawat Research Foundation at IIT Kanpur, SPARC (the Safety, Privacy & AI Research Centre) at IISc, the Wadhwani School of AI & Intelligent Systems at IIT Kanpur, BITS Pilani, iSPIRT Foundation, IIT Ropar and CHARAKA CoE of the Karnataka government. The report said many partners were setting up hubs at the facility. Being named as a foundational partner does not, by itself, establish a particular deployment, contract or endorsement of the proposed city.
The same report said Bharat1.AI aimed to have more than 100 foundational AI startups operating at the SuperPark within a year of its November launch. That is a company target, not a reported count of startups already operating there.

Connectivity claims
A Times of India account of the February 2026 announcement said the company described the campus as supporting model training, fine-tuning and inference, and claimed connectivity of up to 400 Gbps with sub-millisecond latency to major AI cloud platforms. That figure was part of the company’s launch announcement, not an independently verified network measurement. Moneycontrol separately described a physical line from Bengaluru to Mumbai alongside a high-tension power cable, as well as data-centre collaborations; those descriptions should not be treated as confirmation of the launch announcement’s network specification.
What is planned for the 70-acre city?
Projected residents, workers and equipment
According to Moneycontrol’s 6 October 2026 report, Bharat1.AI said it had finalized land near Agara Lake and planned for about 6,000 researchers to live at the site and 25,000 people to work there. The company’s projected infrastructure includes around 2,500 cameras, 800 radars and more than 6,000 robots. These are figures in the plan, not verified completed installations.

Why build a physical test environment?
Many AI systems are developed using text, images or other static data, but robots and agentic systems must respond to changing surroundings and interactions. Bharat1.AI’s stated rationale is to create an environment where those systems can be exercised against real-world conditions, with humans and machines sharing a setting. The company projects that the city could generate one exabyte of data annually—described by Moneycontrol as one billion gigabytes. That is a projection, not a measured output.

In a February 2026 Times of India interview, co-founder and CEO Umakant Soni said: “Scaling systems without validating them in complex, real-world environments is a risk we cannot afford… The B1 AI Superpark is the first step toward creating a city-scale validation framework where agentic and physical AI can evolve responsibly, not just powerfully.”
How much will it cost, and is the funding secured?
Moneycontrol reported that Bharat1.AI was in the process of raising $650 million for the overall project. The reported financing mix was around $300 million expected from equity, with the balance from debt. This describes a fundraising effort, not money confirmed as raised or committed. The report also said the company was engaging governments in several countries about collaboration; that does not establish government approval or financing for the project.
What is known about safety and residents’ data?
Soni told Moneycontrol that the city would focus on AI safety and data for frontier-model research, with safeguards and consent for researchers who live there. That is the stated commitment. The report does not detail how consent would work, how long data would be retained, whether or how it could be deleted, how camera and radar data would be handled, what rights people would have over their digital twins, or what independent oversight would apply. Those operational protections should not be assumed to be settled.
Moneycontrol reported the company’s land finalization, but land finalization alone does not demonstrate that planning and construction approvals are complete. The reviewed reporting does not establish government permissions, binding financing commitments or a detailed operating data-governance framework for the proposed city.

- Delivery: whether the proposed city advances from announced plans to construction and operation, and whether the company’s 2029 expectation changes.
- Financing and permissions: whether the reported fundraising effort produces committed financing and whether required approvals are obtained.
- Published safeguards: whether the company explains consent, data handling, digital-twin rights and independent oversight in operational terms.
- Evidence of scale: whether projected residents, workers, robots, sensors and data volumes become verified deployments or measured results.
As of 7 October 2026, the clearest evidence of activity is the partly operational SuperPark described by Moneycontrol and the facilities Bharat1.AI lists on its own site. The 70-acre city remains a company proposal reported by the press, and its projected figures should be read accordingly.
