Yes—one eligible YouTube channel can run two gaming streams at the same time, as long as you stay within YouTube’s limits of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key. The key is to create two events in Live Control Room, send each feed to its intended event, and make sure your upload connection can carry both streams. “Rerun” can also mean replaying a recording or handing viewers from one stream to another; those are different setups, so the steps below distinguish them.
First decide what “two rerun streams” means
Two streams live at the same time
This means two separate gaming feeds are broadcasting concurrently on the same channel—for example, two different games or two distinct recordings. YouTube’s documented caps allow it if the channel has no more than 10 active streams and no more than three active streams use any one stream key. Create two events and route each encoder output to the correct one.
One stream followed by another
If you want to run one event and then move viewers to a second event, that is a sequential handoff, not two simultaneous streams. YouTube Live Redirect can send viewers to a selected Premiere or livestream after the originating stream ends. The eligibility conditions are covered below.
Replaying a recording as a live feed
If “rerun” means broadcasting a prerecorded gameplay recording as a live stream, the same event and encoder setup may apply, but do not assume that looping a recording is automatically permitted. You are responsible for rights to gameplay, music, overlays, and all other material in the feed. YouTube’s cited guidance does not establish a special blanket permission for prerecorded reruns.

Check channel eligibility and YouTube limits
- Your channel must be verified and must not have had livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. General YouTube livestream guidance also says livestreamers must be at least 16 years old.
- YouTube allows up to 10 active streams per channel and up to three active streams per stream key. These caps apply concurrently; two streams fit if your other active broadcasts do not push you over either limit.
- Enable livestreaming before the event date. First-time activation can take time, so do not wait until the planned start to find out whether the feature is available.

Set up two simultaneous gaming streams
- Prepare both feeds. Decide what each stream will show and whether each will be encoded locally or elsewhere. YouTube does not prescribe a particular encoder app or computer architecture for running two gaming streams.
- Create two events. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule one event for each feed. Give each a distinct title and identify which output belongs to it so you do not send the wrong gameplay to the wrong event.
- Configure each encoder destination. Use the stream URL and stream key for the intended event in the corresponding encoder output. Treat stream keys like passwords: do not publish or share them. If you need to reuse a key, remember that YouTube’s limit is three active streams per key.
- Check the combined upload requirement. Add the planned outgoing bitrates for both feeds and compare the total with reliable available upload bandwidth. YouTube says the total streaming bitrate cannot exceed available upload bandwidth and advises leaving headroom. Download speed is not a substitute for upload capacity. A shared or unstable connection can cause interruptions.
- Test before going live. Start both feeds in advance, preview each in Live Control Room, confirm that each event receives the intended picture and sound, check that the watch pages are accessible on relevant devices, and monitor audio and video quality. YouTube recommends setting up encoders ahead of time and checking the streams before and during the event.
- Publish and monitor both events. Keep an eye on each event’s preview and status. If the connection struggles, reduce the planned stream load or improve network reliability before continuing.

Plan the computer and network without assuming one setup fits all
Two outgoing feeds can increase both local encoding work and upload demand, but the exact computer requirement depends on your chosen settings and where encoding happens. YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee that a particular PC can encode two feeds smoothly. Avoid treating a processor, graphics card, cable, or internet plan as universally sufficient.
- Use your actual upload capacity—not the advertised download figure—to assess the combined outgoing bitrate.
- Leave bandwidth headroom rather than planning to consume the full measured upload rate.
- If the connection is shared or unreliable, reduce the planned bitrate or arrange a more dependable connection before the broadcast.
- A wired connection or hardware encoder can be considered as an optional setup choice, not a guarantee or requirement.
Check rights before a gaming rerun
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream. YouTube’s terms require you to have the necessary rights for live content. Check the full recording and live feed, including game audio, background music, overlays, and other inserted material. Even if you believe you have a licence, YouTube says content can be interrupted unless the relevant channel has been allowlisted by the rights holder.

For a prerecorded rerun in particular, do not infer from the platform’s technical stream limits that a recording is automatically cleared to rebroadcast. Review the rights attached to every element and the applicable YouTube terms before starting.

Use Live Redirect for a sequential audience handoff
When the goal is to move viewers from a finished stream to the next event, use YouTube Live Redirect rather than describing it as a way to keep two streams active. After the originating stream ends, viewers can be sent to a selected Premiere or another livestream. The sending creator must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. The second stream will not start
Check that livestreaming is enabled, that the channel has no current restrictions, and that you have not exceeded 10 active streams on the channel or three on the stream key. Confirm that each encoder is configured for the correct event’s stream URL and key.

The preview is black or shows the wrong game
Check the encoder’s selected capture source and its destination details. Compare the feed in each Live Control Room preview with the intended event before publishing.
Video or audio keeps buffering or dropping
Compare the combined outgoing bitrate with available upload bandwidth and leave headroom. If other people or devices share the connection, or the connection is unreliable, reduce the planned load or improve the connection. Check audio and video in each event rather than assuming both feeds have the same issue.
A stream is interrupted for third-party content
Review music, game audio, overlays, and other material for rights clearance. YouTube’s live scanning can interrupt a feed; a creator’s belief that a recording is licensed does not by itself establish that the channel is allowlisted.
